Smiling Hearts Initiatives International (SHI) is a non-governmental, nonprofit organization founded in Nigeria and has been operational since 2016 as Zumunchi Hearts Initiative International before its official registration with the CAC on the 10th October 2018 as Smiling Hearts Initiative International (SHI Int.). SHI Int. is committed to immediate humanitarian relief and support to those in urgent need and also protects dignity of persons affected by natural deserter, violence crime or any other emergency. We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Finance Officer

Locations: Maiduguri - Borno, Yobe and Adamawa
Employment Type: Contract

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with partners’ financial policies and procedures.
  • Prepare disbursement vouchers in accordance with SHI Finance manual
  • Collect and examine supporting documents
  • Maintain working advance and receivable Accounts
  • Record all transaction on manual/computer system as appropriate
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial report
  • Prepare bank reconciliation.
  • Reconciling financial query arising from financial transaction.
  • Ensure that all SHI payment is process on timely manner.
  • Provide monthly update of all SHI related financial transaction.
  • Maintains a secure filing system of the financial documentation.
  • Continuously stay abreast with partners’ policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Finance Coordinator & Resource management.
  • Perform any other work-related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by Line Manager

  • Timeliness and accuracy of payments processing
  • Accuracy of ledger reconciliations
  • Quality of financial reports
  • Team work.

Academic Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of HND or B.Sc. Accounting from a recognized institution in Nigeria
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in NGO.
