Initiative for Improved Humanity Foundation (IHF) responds to humanitarian crises, helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. Founded in 2021, but duly registered with CAC 2023, IHF was borne out of the burden to improve lives of the downtrodden; especially women and children who are usually the most vulnerable in the society, and to impact on humanity in general. IHF offers lifesaving cares and also life changing assistance to the less-privileged in the society. With interventions in over 40 communities in Abuja and with plans on expanding her humanitarian works to other states in Nigeria and globally. IHF restores sense of dignity and spark ray of hope to millions who are despondent. IHF advances the way from harm to home.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

 


Job Title: Finance Officer

Location: Life Camp, Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Major Responsibilities

  • Being in charge of the finance department's management of accounting systems, policies, and procedures in compliance with accounting standards, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Preparation of budgets of IHF, whether for the organization’s running and for every grant or proposal written by IHF.
  • Responsible for record of every payment, financial receipts, retirements and reports of IHF assets, liabilities, expenditure and other financial activities.
  • Implementing IHF donors’ rules on accounting systems and general bookkeeping while executing IHF programs and activities.
  • Reconciling daily, monthly and yearly transactions in IHF.
  • Developing an in-depth knowledge of IHF services and processes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. Having extra certification in accounting will be an advantage.
  • Eyes for details, data articulation and diligence in carrying out duties.
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
  • Excellent Interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle a large and dynamic workload, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting.
  • Excellent knowledge of current accounting operating software systems
  • Knowledge of data management skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite such as Excel, Access, Ms Word and PowerPoint etc.
  • Demonstrated Managerial/Leadership Competencies
