The Civil Society Scaling-Up Nutrition in Nigeria (CS-SUNN) is a non-governmental, non-profit making coalition, made up of organizations with a shared vision to transform Nigeria into a country where every citizen has food and is nutrition secure. CS-SUNN pursues this lofty goal by engaging and mobilizing Government and Non-state actors to advocate for relevant policy implementation, raise awareness, generate evidence, build capacity, and stimulate communities to scale up nutrition in Nigeria, with a specialfocus on maternal and child nutrition

Job Title: Finance Manager

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Unit: Finance
Supervisor: Executive Secretary
Supervisee: Finance Team
Contract: Fixed-term

CS-SUNN seeks a skilled and experienced Finance Manager to lead its financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, with a proven track record of success in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and reporting.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identify areas for improvement and develop and implement strategies to achieve financial goals.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial service providers.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, providing guidance and support to ensure their continued professional development.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Manage the financial planning process, including forecasting, budgeting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, including financial statements, budget variance analysis, and cash flow projections and all donor reporting requirements.
  • Manage the organization's cash flow and ensure adequate funding is available to meet operational needs.
  • Collaborate with program teams to ensure financial goals are aligned with overall program objectives.

Requirements and Qualification

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACCA, ACA), A Master's Degree with a minimum of 8 years’ experience and four years in a managerial position
  • Proficiency in the use of SAGE 50, Excel and Quickbooks and other accounting software.
  • Experience working with non-profit organizations and knowledge of donor regulations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, financial analysis, and budgeting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Skills in procurement, budgeting and donor reporting.
