Job Description
- To manage the company's drilling and completion Equipment/Materials Contracts to improve operational efficiency
- Manage the contracting process in conjunction with the CP department
- To manage the Health, Safely, Environmental, HSE issues related to contracting of goods and materials.
Accountabilities
- Demonstrate a high commitment to HSE
- Liaise with C&P department in the contracting processes for
all drilling and completions equipment and materials to avoid delays in
operations due to contract unavailability.
- Prepare the ITTs for all wells contracts in liaison with the C&P department
- Prepare the scope of Work for all wells contract in liaison with Assistant Manager, Drilling Operations.
- Carry out benchmaking exercises for contract negotiation and pricing
- Ensure that all well contract go through the company contracting process and prepare justification for any exceptions.
- Manage the interface with C&P wells teams.
- Prepare monthly contract Budget/Spend analysis.
Experience and Qualification required
- A graduate Degree/HND in Engineering or Physical Science, with a
minimum of 15 years oil and gas drilling and completion experience, 5
of which must be in the rig site as a Supervisor and 2 years as
Contracts Engineer. Possession of professional Drilling certificates
(e.g. Shell R1 & R2. IWCF or equivalent) is an advantage. Experience
in subsurface engineering is also an advantage.

- To carry out the technical design and put together a programme
to intervene in a wells assigned to him in line with set objectives and
company approved operational practices and procedures.

Accountabilities

- Participates in Improvement Projects
- Collates and prepares data for the review of completed wells

- Liaise with C&P department in the contracting processes for all drilling and completions equipment and materials.
- Ensure that the supplied wells equipment and materials go
through the required Quality Assurance process before they are taken to
stock.
- Liaise with the Community Relation Officers to work out
strategies with the host communities to minimize disruption in Well
drilling and completion operations.
- Manage the process of obtaining DPR approvals and other governmental permitting requirements
- Manage the progress of work on wall drilling and completion activities assigned to his team.
Experience and Qualification required
- A graduate Degree in Engineering or Physical Science, with a
minimum of 10 years oil and gas drilling and completion experience, 8
years of which must be in well technology, planning, design and
construction activities. Must possess some professional Drilling
certificates (e.g. Shell RI & R2, IWCF or equivalent). Experience in
subsurface engineering is mandatory

Job Descriptions
- To manage and be single point responsible for the design,
programming and safe drilling and completion of wells assigned to his
rig to approved standards.
- To monitor the progress of work on his assigned rig and to give
real-time advice on operations and other matters affecting the
performance of the rig.
Accountabilities
- Demonstrate a high commitment to HSE.
- Carry out well design which includes, casing design and
selection, drill fluids, torque and drag, well control, drill string
using the appropriate well engineering design software.
- Prepare the drilling and completion programs and obtain approvals from relevant authorities.
- Monitor the progress of drilling and completion operations and report critical issues to the Manager.
- Implement change control procedures to ensure that changes to
procedures either planned or unplanned have the necessary level of
technical authority approval
- Manage the personnel logistics and expedite materials and equipment to and from the rig.
- Promptly process the contractor involve for jobs rendered
- Manage the interfaces between CWI, well construction, production operations and development teams
- Manage the service contractors to ensure that high quality services are provided in accordance with their respective contracts
Experience and Qualification required
- A professional Engineer in possession of a Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant Engineering or Science discipline.
- A minimum of 8 years experience in Drilling and Completion of wells with minimum of 2 years as a drilling supervisor on a rig.
- Good supervisor skills, with sound knowledge of well control techniques and drilling operations practices
- Good analytical, communication and writing skills, with PC
fluency and familiarity with drilling engineering software. Conversant
with relevant software (well plan for windows, Compass especially)
- Proficient in English language, both in speech and in writing.
- In possession of Shell RI and R2 certificate or a valid IWCF certificates or equivalent.
