The Confederation of African Football (CAF) was founded in 1957 by four nations: Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia and South Africa. As the administrative body of the region, CAF manages competitions, offers technical and administrative training courses while actively fostering the promotion and practice of football. The Confederation organizes championships such as the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN or AFCON), the most popular competition. It maintains very close links with FIFA in coordinating tournaments for different events such as the World Cup, Youth and Women competitions and the Olympic Games Football Tournaments.
We are recruiting to fill the positions of:
     
Job Title: Senior Services & Logistics Manager Location: Africa
Duties Senior Services & Logistics Manager who can effectively handle the following duties:
  • Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services
  • Plan, manage and evaluate logistics operations liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies and customers
  • Monitor the execution of contractual charges of outsourced service providers, such as:  security, maintenance of the transportations and maintaining  the provision of Services (Telephone Lines, Caterings, Translations, etc.) with the 3rd parties’ service providers;
  • Responsible for the warehouse and supplies’ management;
  • Participate with the Head of Department in planning & development  of the departmental budget and the provision of equipment & supplies;
  • Manage and validate the invoices received from the external service providers, under the supervision of the head of department;
  • Monitor the logistics of all CAF events by monitoring quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs
  • Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
  • Supervise, coach and train warehouse workforce
  • Receive all the deliveries sent to CAF;
  • Deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirements
  • Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports or customer issues
  • Ensure the integrity of inventory accuracy and manage stock movements with the help of direct reports
  • Identify and resolve any inventory discrepancies and ensure inventory and system records are in agreement
  • Identify savings by removing waste or unnecessary steps in the logistics process
  • Manage, coach and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements
  • Set departmental objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports
  • Ensure that all functions under supervision operate in accordance with CAF Rules
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or similar
  • Master Degree in Logistics or equivalent is a plus
  • A total of 10  years’ working experience in Logistics and services of which a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar managerial role
  • Experience in Stock Management Software, Shipping and Customs Declaration procedures, and Notions on Air FREIGHT Transport
  • Fluent in at least two of CAF official languages (French, English and/or Arabic)
  • Flexible to work in a shift schedule and to work from outside the office
  • Able to work independently and within a larger team to achieve results and impact
  • Proven capabilities and leadership skills to inspire and develop the team
  • Skilled in negotiation and conflict management
  • Works well under pressure and manages stressful situations with ease
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong sense of accountability, responsibility, and integrity

Job Title: Senior Accountant Location: Africa
Job Description Senior Accountant who can contribute to CAF’s overall success by handling the following duties:
  • Support adequate Preparation of financial statements on tight due dates
  • Ensure that appropriate implementation of Accounting Standards (IFRS)
  • Manage the accounting functions, including the general ledger accounts, and their registration
  • Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
  • Support handling A/P, A/R and their registration
  • Update financial data in databases to ensure that the information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
  • Support Budget Preparation in details
  • Establish contact with all related departments and parties to gather data and information
  • Structure a reliable, flexible, and easy to deal with Budget formats covering all concerned items
  • Consolidate all Budget gathered financial information to issue CAF’s Budget
  • Prepare and submit periodic Financial reports, including Budget reports (Actual Verses Budget)
  • Analyse variances of actual verses budget with justifying reasons, (Calculate budget variances and report significant problems)
  • Periodic update (monthly) on the status of the budget for each concerned department in relation to actual incurred amounts
  • Authorize and approve all payments and incurred expenses with the set Budget
  • Revisit initially issued Budget in the light of actual or new circumstances or events, and which may lead to issuance of an updated Budget
  • Support the Finance Department in the preparation of monthly/quarterly/yearly closings,
  • Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary,
  • Handle the requirements of external auditors
  • Supervise, direct, and manage accountants in the Finance team
  • Adhere to CAF's set Rules and Regulations
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, and/or Finance
  • Master’s Degree or CPA or Accounting equivalent preferred
  • From 5 to 7 years of experience preferably in multinational or big local companies (Group companies with subsidiaries)
  • Exposure, awareness, knowledge, and experience of financial statements preparations, IFS, and latest changes, financial reporting, general accounting knowledge, and accounting treatments and entries
  • Preferably Audit experience in one of the big 4 Audit Firms
  • Fluent in English and/or French
