We have been mandated by our client a Manufacturing Company to recruit in the capacity below: Job Title: Inventory Officer Location: Ogun Reporting to: Logistics Manager Job Description

  • Ensure all costs are within budget (optimal freight cost management & warehousing optimisation)
  • Ensure weekly reconciliation of stock,(weekly circle count)
  • Ensure outbound freight optimisation
  • General Operational excellence and compliance
  • Ensure full SHEQ adherence in warehousing and transport space
  • Ensuring the right product is in the right place at the right time – owning the management of all inter-site transfers to enable 100% fulfilment of our customer’s orders
  • Ensure project management of key cost and service improvement initiatives that result in efficiency improvements
  • Drive successful development and growth people agenda
  • Co-ordinates identification, picking and handling obsolete stocks and all controls required.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Degree qualified preferably in Logistics, Engineering, or related area together
  • 1-3 years experience in Warehouse management preferably in FMCG
  • Experience in managing 3PLs
  • Good people management, motivation skills and negotiation skills
  • Good planning and processing skills
  • WMS computer experience, preferably JDE
  • Has a sound understanding of the market and identifies growth opportunities
  • Displays sound judgement in difficult circumstances
  • Drives continuous improvement at all organisation levels
  • Ability to communicate at all levels with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers
  • Ability and confidence to challenge, question, influence and negotiate
  • Ability to co-ordinate 3pls and cross functional
  • Enthusiasm, motivation, tenacity and a commitment to timely delivery of results
  • Proven customer service skills
  • A willingness to challenge generally accepted norms and the conceptual flexibility to find better answers
  • An appreciation of the total business picture
