Job Description
- We are seeking to recruit an experienced Country Programs Manager. The person will manage the successful execution of multiple projects and initiatives.
- He/she will play an important role in shaping the strategic direction and operational achievements of the organization.
Responsibilities
Program Management:
- Lead the comprehensive planning of all country programs and projects, meticulously detailing objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.
- promptly addressing any deviations from planned outcomes.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of completed projects, utilizing data-driven insights to assess impact and identify areas for enhancement.
- Continuously align program activities with Organisation's overarching mission and strategic goals, ensuring coherence and relevance in all endeavours.
- Spearhead the seamless implementation of initiatives, orchestrating the efforts of diverse teams to ensure efficient execution.
- Diligently monitor the progress of programs, employing advanced tracking mechanisms and
Resource Mobilization, Growth, and Partnership Development:
- Proactively identify and evaluate opportunities for securing funding and resources to sustain and expand program activities, while simultaneously fostering growth and cultivating strategic partnerships.
- Develop and execute comprehensive resource mobilization strategies that align with Organisation's mission and strategic objectives, leveraging a combination of traditional and innovative fundraising approaches.
- Collaborate closely with the country program team and other internal stakeholders to identify synergies and opportunities for growth, fostering a culture of collaboration and cross-functional engagement.
- Lead the negotiation and development of partnership agreements, memoranda of understanding (MOUs), and other formal arrangements, ensuring clarity, alignment, and mutual benefit for all parties involved.
- Continuously assess and evaluate the effectiveness of resource mobilization and partnership development efforts, soliciting feedback, analyzing performance metrics, and adapting strategies as needed to optimize outcomes and impact.
- Cultivate and steward relationships with existing and prospective donors, partners, and stakeholders, engaging in strategic communication and relationship-building efforts to enhance collaboration and support for programmatic initiatives.
- Explore and pursue opportunities for strategic partnerships and alliances with like-minded organizations, institutions, and businesses, aiming to amplify impact, maximize resource efficiency, and drive sustainable development outcomes.
Team Leadership:
- Provide visionary leadership to the country program team, inspiring a shared sense of purpose and commitment to Organisation's mission.
- Champion diversity and inclusion within the team, recognizing and valuing the unique perspectives and contributions of each member.
- Foster a culture of transparency and open communication, facilitating seamless collaboration and knowledge sharing among team members.
- Set clear performance expectations and goals for team members, providing constructive feedback and support to facilitate their professional growth and development.
Innovation and Learning:
- Foster a dynamic and adaptive organizational culture that prioritizes innovation, experimentation, and continuous learning.
- Encourage creativity and out-of-the-box thinking within the country program team, empowering members to explore novel approaches and solutions to development challenges.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and cross-learning opportunities among team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and mutual support.
- Regularly review and assess programmatic approaches and methodologies, integrating lessons learned and best practices to drive ongoing improvement and refinement.
Financial Management:
- Develop comprehensive budgets for all country programs, meticulously allocating resources to align with program priorities and objectives.
- Provide timely and accurate financial reports to internal stakeholders and external donors, demonstrating fiscal responsibility and accountability.
- Establish robust financial controls and systems for tracking expenditure, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance with donor regulations and organizational policies.
- Conduct regular financial reviews and audits to monitor program finances and identify areas for optimization or cost-saving measures.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in International Development, Public Administration, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in managing international development programs, preferably in Nigeria or sub-Saharan Africa.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, analyse complex issues, and develop innovative solutions to development challenges.
- Experience in resource mobilization, grant writing, and donor relationship management.
- Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation methodologies and tools.
- Commitment to organisation's mission and values, including a passion for sustainable development and social impact.
- Proven track record of successful program management, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team towards common goals.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Salary
N1,500,000 - N2,000,000 annually.
