Job Title: Vice President, Finance
Location: Lagos Island, Lagos

Description of the Role
- The Vice President, Finance has complete responsibility for all accounting, financial operations, treasury & investment, procurement and tax compliance matters for the Company and accurately reports same to the Company’s management and board of directors.
Primary Responsibilities
- Control: Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt and recording of revenue, costs, project budgets and actual expenditures. Design and implement finance policies and processes to aid reporting and control of the Company.
- Reporting: Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, half yearly management accounts and annual report.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to accounting standards, and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Leadership: Develop and mentor the finance team, manage work allocation, training, performance evaluation. Build an effective and efficient high-performance finance team that is appropriate for the Company’s operations.
- Stakeholder management: Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as bankers, advisers, and consultants including but not limited to tax, financial advisers, real estate valuers etc.
- Liquidity: Ensure the Company has the cash and liquidity to meet its obligations. Keep abreast of financial risk within the Company’s treasury portfolio and explore financial instruments that may be utilized to mitigate risk.
- Budgeting: Oversee budgeting, budgetary control and forecasting process for the Company. This includes weekly and monthly cash flow projections.
- Process improvement: Identify and implement ways to improve productivity, optimise costs, and streamline processes. This includes the development/update of operating policies and procedures.
- The role is based in Lagos, Nigeria.

Education
- First Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA is required.
- MBA, MSc., or other finance/business related post graduate qualification, Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is an added advantage
Experience, Skills and Education Requirements:
- The successful candidate must have strong financial analysis and excellent verbal and written communication skills and in-depth experience in operational finance.
Work Experience, and Competencies:
- Over 10 years’ experience within a finance function or “big 4” professional service firm. At least 5 years at managerial level.
- Prior experience as a financial controller is an added advantage.
- Experience building and leading teams of finance and accounting professionals.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills in oral and written form.
- Expertise in at least three of the following areas – financial control, reporting, financial planning & analysis, treasury and investment management, tax, procurement.
- Strong operational experience with the finance unit is required. Experience working with a holding company or group is an added advantage
Skills:
- Deep and thorough knowledge of IFRS accounting standards is required
- Prior experience using an Enterprise Resource Planning (“ERP”) system. Use of SAP S/4 HANA is an added advantage.
- Ability to build and manage relationships with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong financial accounting experience covering General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Tax, Treasury and Financial Reporting.
- Understanding and measuring key drivers of performance
