The Caracal Oil & Gas Support Group is an offshore oilfield solutions group of companies established in 2013 with the vision to bring world class operating standards to support offshore West African oil and gas operators.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Chief Financial Officer

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description / Responsibilities

• Ensure proper and timely financial and tax accounting (both for profit and not for profit).
• Oversee annual audits on time and with minimal or no adjustments.
• Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard assets.
• Direct the overall financial plans and accounting practice. Manage the financial performance by developing forecasts and monitoring ongoing performance against plan. Fiduciary responsibility for the financial health of the organization.
• Provide strong, forward-looking analytical leadership.
• Lead the Accounting and Finance teams to ensure that both excellence in day-to-day service delivery and future needs.
• Oversee the monthly variance analysis of actual operating, capital and project spending vs. plan, forecast and prior year; including responsibility for driving cost control
• Identify staffing and training needs, evaluate employee performance, and coach Accounting and Finance staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Managing the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting.
• Bring creativity and passion to the organization and its services and possess a broad institutional perspective while embracing change and innovation
• Demonstrate proven ability in developing models and conducting analyses that identify critical trends, support strategic decision making and create forward visibility
• Drive change within the organization through robust financial analysis and strong business partnership.
• Develop the forecast, budget, and long range plan, ensuring alignment of proper resource allocation.
• Advising on long-term business and financial planning.

Requirements

• B.Sc or HND in Accounting, or a related course
• Chartered accountant - ICAN/ACCA
• Accounting software competence
• 5 - 10 years Proven experience as CFO, finance manageror relevant role
• M.Sc / MBA Finance or relevant field
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers.
• CPA is a strong advantage.
• Understanding of IFRS and related regulatory frameworks
• Advanced Excel skills.
• In-depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices
• Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
• Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software
• Ability to strategize and solve problems
