We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Chartered Accountant
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full Time
Roles and Responsibilities
- Preparation of financial reports such as financial statements including cash flow statements and budget performance.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards (i.e. IFRS, GAAP, FASB), rules, regulations, and systems of internal control.
- Aid in the implementation of new accounting policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Provide accurate, timely, and relevant recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information.
- Create and analyze liability, asset, and capital accounts by compiling electronic data and required documentation.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local protocols including legal requirements, and interpret new and existing legislation
- Create and oversee the implementation of a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manual for accounting policy and regulations, and roll out reconciliation procedures
- Focus on tax compliance, state business registration, contract review, and tax filing
- Play a vital part in the company's financial management which includes all monthly and annual account reconciliations and reporting to necessary parties
- Maintain and reconcile investment portfolios, ensuring accurate recording of transactions and performance metrics.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Must be a Chartered Accountant.
- Knowledge of risk management and process control frameworks is a strong advantage
- Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills and highly detail-oriented.
- Experience working with accounting software
- Working knowledge of tax filing and tax compliance as it pertains to state and federal-level regulations
- Must be an outstanding communicator, and have established skills in accuracy, organization, and working in a high-volume environment.
- Demonstrable understanding of IFRS; DipIFRS is a strong advantage
- Proven experience of 5 - 7 years in accounting/finance with Big 4 firms is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, QuickBooks, and other accounting software).
- Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, journal adjustments, preparation of all financial statements, and financial reporting.
