Position Description
The Manager, Security serves as the business leader responsible for the development, implementation and management of the organization’s corporate security vision, strategy and programs. They direct staff in identifying, developing, implementing and maintaining security processes across the organization to reduce risks, respond to incidents, and limit exposure to liability in all areas of financial, physical, and personal risk; establish appropriate standards and risk controls associated with intellectual property; and direct the establishment and implementation of policies and procedures related to data security.
• Conduct periodic security review of all residences and branch locations in order to determine the adequacy (or otherwise) of existing security measures in place.
• Carry out regular compliance visits to all residences and branches in order to ensure that existing security policies and procedures are in line with the Bank’s best practice with respect to security services (or as the case maybe).
• Create awareness and ensure all staff are familiar with all security policies and procedures including emergency procedures, fire evacuation, guarding expectations, etc.
• Ensure high level of performance on the part of contract security guards and the Security Escort Teams.
• Ensure that all resources provided for security operations bank wide are effectively managed and utilised.
• Monthly collation and assessment of intelligence data with respect to crime incidents in Lagos. Collated intelligence data will be forwarded to the Head, Administration for review, and further to senior management.
• Write detailed security reports based on current security situation and potential threats to personnel, assets, information and business operations.
Key Responsibilities

Key Performance Measures
• Attend and contribute to discussion forums e.g. departmental meetings, business feedback meetings.
• Participate in formulation of business plans & strategies
• Provide professional advice to assist in planning and decision making (
financial planning)
• Administer the overall security and taskforce operations, which are geared for safeguarding of properties and employees. Supervise investigations particularly on major cases such as theft, robbery hold-up, shooting incident, and initiate intelligence gathering on classified matters.
• Manage relationships with external vendors for the provision of security guards and escort services
• Develop security plan, systems and design to enhance the security operations and ensure execution of all approved security schemes.
• Coordinate periodic fire evacuation drills in ensuring that staff are kept up-to-date with safety measures in the case of emergencies
• Conduct physical security survey on existing facilities to establish the weak points and recommend appropriate security controls
• File appropriate criminal case to delinquent person and appear in court trial proceedings.
• Understand and take action on outcome of Internal Customers’ Satisfaction Surveys and Service Support reports
• Track requests from various business units and ensure compliance with approved internal SLAs

Internal:
Reports directly to the Head, Administration
Procurement & Finance department for payments of vendors’ bills and monitoring the purchases are carried out within budget allocations.

Security guarding companies
Security equipment vendors for installation and maintenance
The Nigerian Police and other security agencies
