Set up, operate and coordinate a specialist team of NDT crew for the Pipeline Production Department, from execution of conceptual design stage to engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning.
Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities
  • Setup, use and maintain the PipeWizard Phased Array AUT system. Instruct Scanner Technicians
  • Perform NDT services including but not limited to pre-qualification, performance, data interpretation, calibrations, reporting and daily reports.

JOB TITLE: Arc Welder

Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities
  • Manually guides electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld, and size of molten puddle.
  • Obtains specified electrode and inserts electrode into portable holder or threads consumable electrode wire through portable welding gun.
  • Connects cables from welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse, as specified by Welding Engineer.
  • Starts power supply to produce electric current.
  • Strikes arc which generates heat to make and deposit metal from electrode to work piece and join edges of work piece.
  • Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
  • Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.
  • May manually apply filler rod to supply weld metal.
  • May clean or degrease weld joint or work piece, using wire brush, portable grinder, or chemical bath.
  • May repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes. May prepare broken parts for welding by grooving or scarfing surfaces.
  • May chip off excess weld, slag, and spatter, using hand scraper or power chipper. May preheat work piece, using hand torch or heating furnace.
  • May position and clamp work pieces together or assemble them in jig or fixture. May tack assemblies together.
  • May cut metal plates or structural shapes.

Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities
  • Responsible for assisting the Master in the operation of the vessel to the standards laid down by Company Policy, Contractor's requirements and International Regulations and to ensure that the vessel is operated with due regard for the preservation of all life and the environment.
  • Ensure that when he/she has control of the vessel, it is safely navigated and operated in accordance with the Master's Standing Orders and Company Policy with due regard to the drilling operations.
  • When on duty at the DP desk he is in charge of DP operations in accordance with the Masters instructions, manages the D.P. system in conformity with normal rules of operation, applying all the relevant procedures according to his experience and seamanship.
  • Ensure weather forecasts are available and conduct proper interpretations in order to take actions to minimize any risk to the Rig Operations.
  • Document and implement the established planned preventative maintenance and repair procedures for the vessel's hull, superstructure, and all associated equipment. Ensure personnel are aware and fully understand these procedures and scheduled as written. Communicate any discrepancies or problems to the Master.
  • Verify, maintain, update and documentation of the safe working procedures for the Deck department. Ensure personnel are aware of and fully understand these procedures. Inform department heads of any changes in these procedures.
  • Ensure that all the Deck crew are aware of all their job related hazards.
  • Monitor and document Deck department personnel's progress. Request and organize training as necessary.
  • Responsible for the daily computation of the vessels stability, trim and stress and reports status to the Master.
