Job Title: Area Sales Manager (Food)

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Description / Requirements

  • Responsible for the delivery of the Sales Targets on a monthly & basis for the assigned territory
  • To ensure the distribution of all product categories & New Products in the specified geography
  • Ensures profitable growth in sales revenue through planning & execution and proper management of the supporting team
  • Market supervision – Price Check, Competition check, new development affecting the business, etc.
  • Effectively Manage the resources allocated for Sales operations of his assigned territory.
  • Ensure optimization of team effort towards the achievement of territory objective
  • Monitor & drive sales on a daily basis
  • Ensure stocks are allocated based on the payment limits / agreed Service Level Arrangements
  • Ensure collections are proportionate to sales.
  • Territory management skills (customer/outlet mapping, call/route plan, volume planning and market analysis)
  • Understanding of strategic sales process and the steps necessary to drive sales results
  • Demonstrated experience in managing projects for sales process or program implementation from concept to completion
  • Must be organized, detail oriented and ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, and communication (oral and written)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a virtual team where open, collaborative communication is expected
  • Identify & liaise with the distributors / customers on sales reconciliation.
  • Report excess outstanding/defaults to the respective Zonal Sales Manager
  • To Provide timely weekly/monthly sales reports & forecasts for the assigned territory.
  • Execute the sales and marketing plan for the territory as agreed with the Branch Manager.
  • Monitor Distributors’ turnover and stocks on a weekly basis and ensure that the various SKUs are available and that the Distributors meet their monthly targets.
  • Develop and execute action plans in case the Distributor falls short on his/her monthly target.
  • Plan and Deliver the monthly sales targets for his territory.
  • Achieve availability of our products at the Distributors’ outlets.
  • Identify, create and execute opportunities with Distributors to increase sell-in/sell-out.
  • Identify expired products & report to the Zonal Sales Manager.
  • Identify dented, defected & damaged stock & report to the respective Zonal Sales Manager.
  • Establish, maintain and expand current customer base
  • Service the needs of existing customers
  • Increase business opportunities through various routes to market
  • Implement company policies, systems, BTL / promotional activities
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a FMCG sales environment
