The Lagos State Ministry of Health (LSMOH) remains the only state to receive direct funding from the Global Fund since 2017 and is currently a Principal Recipient for the implementation of the Resilient and Sustainable Systems for Health (RSSH) grant during the 2024 - 2026 implementation period. As the Principal Recipient, the Ministry of Health is legally responsible for managing the grant and ensuring the achievement of the programmatic results and accountability of the grant's resources. To fulfil the mandate of the Principal Recipient, the Ministry of Health established the Global Fund Grant Management Unit (GMU) to carry out the functions of the PR.
The Grant Management Unit works with the implementing units within the LSMOH, and other implementing partners in executing its mandate and ensuring that the grant is managed and implemented in compliance with the grant agreement signed between the Global Fund and the Principal Recipient. To ensure a healthy work environment, the LSMOH/GMU has a zero-tolerance to Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment of beneficiaries, implementers, suppliers, and staff. Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (PSEAH) is everyone’s responsibility, and all staff are required to always adhere to the Code of Conduct, which enshrines the principles of PSEAH.
