Job Title: Accountant

Location: Egbeda, Lagos

Overview

  • For a financial service provider specialized in lending like ours, this position is a key role towards our sustainability and profitability. As an Accountant, your responsibilities will include overseeing end-to-end finance operations, financial planning and analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, looking to make improvements to procedures and controls, as well as ad-hoc projects and requests as and when they come up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and monitor monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports (balance sheets and income statements etc) and recommend further courses of action
  • Forecast costs and revenues
  • Manage the preparation of the company’s budget
  • Advise on investment activities and provide strategies that the company should take
  • Conduct detailed risk analyses to assess potential investments
  • Maintain the financial health of the organization.
  • Analyse costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales & revenue results and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans/budget.
  • Develop trends and projections for the firm’s finances.
  • Correspond with various other departments, discussing company plans and agreeing on future paths to be taken.
  • Conduct regular reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Manage accounts and tax returns and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Managing an end-to-end internal audit process of current systems while acting as the first point of contact for external auditors
  • Monitor and report on accounting discrepancies
  • Analyse financial trends
  • Perform month-end and year-end close processes
  • Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met.

Requirements and Skills

  • Proven work experience as an Accountant or similar role
  • BSc Degree in Accounting, Finance or a relevant field
  • Additional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus
  • 3-5 years experience
  • Must reside within the mainland
  • Age limit: 40 years.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software
  • In-depth understanding of business bookkeeping procedures
  • Solid knowledge of accounting regulations
  • Excellent math skills with attention to detail
  • Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used
  • Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations

Salary Range
N100,000 - N400,000 per month.
