We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Accountant

Location: Apapa, Lagos
Job type: Full-time

Purpose of the Job

  • Oversee and manage the general ledger function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and process improvements.

The Job

  • Manage and maintain the general ledger, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Supervise and review all entries flowing into the general ledger.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of quarterly financial reports, providing adequate support for Group Consolidation
  • Perform Monthly balance sheet reconciliations with adequate and clean schedules.
  • Strengthen internal controls, reducing the risk of financial errors and fraud.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare and review financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.
  • Supervise month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial closing, enabling prompt reporting and decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Candidates should possess a B.Sc / HND in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Professional qualification or certification in ICAN and ACCA.
  • Must have Five (5) years of cognate experience in the FMCG industry.

The Person must:

  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
  • General Ledger reconciliation completion within the stipulated time frame.
  • Have excellent attention to detail.
  • Have good analytical & problem- solving skills.
