Job Title: Account Clerk / Assistant

Role Summary
- PVNL is seeking to recruit qualified candidates for the role of an Account Clerk and this key support role will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting and financial tasks which includes maintaining financial records, processing transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- The Account Clerk will work closely with the finance team and report to the Finance/Accounts Manager to support the effective and efficient management of the organization’s financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Record keeping:
- He /She will be responsible for providing administrative support to the finance team, including scheduling meetings, preparing documents, and managing correspondence.
- He /She will support the Accounts Manager to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records by entering data into accounting software and ensuring proper documentation of all transactions. Other supporting functions will include supporting to reconcile bank statements and financial accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information ensuring compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements in all financial activities.
- Support special financial projects and initiatives as needed and collaborate with other departments to gather and verify financial information and support cross-functional activities.
- Respond to inquiries from staff, vendors, and partners regarding financial transactions and records.
- Monitor and manage petty cash funds, ensuring proper documentation and reconciliation.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports through properly supporting in preparing source documents to accompany quarterly reports.
- Conduct basic financial analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making processes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; relevant certifications is a plus.
- Must have 1-2 years of experience in accounting or finance role, preferably within a non-profit or development organization.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks etc.) and Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial recordkeeping.
