Auchi Polytechnic, a first generation and well-established federal polytechnic with the functions of providing technology education, training and development of techniques, has vacancy for the position below:
Job Title: Registrar
Location: Edo
Job Description
- Candidates for the position must demonstrate evidence of strong administrative leadership, initiative and creativity in policy formulation, good human relations and positive managerial skills.
Duties
- Functions as Secretary to other Statutory Committees
- Responsible for keeping of all records in the Polytechnic
- Responsible for issuing Certificates of Service as approved by the Rector
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Rector/Governing Council from time to time
- The Registrar shall perform the following duties:
- Responsible to the Rector for the day-to-day administration of the Polytechnic
- Be in charge of the Registry Department
- Functions as Secretary to the Academic Board
- Functions as Secretary to the Governing Council
Qualifications and Experience
- Must be ICT proficient
- Command respect of the immediate and extended communities
- Possession of higher qualifications will be added advantage
- Full membership of relevant professional body
- A good honours degree in arts or social sciences or other relevant disciplines from a recognized university.
- At least 15 years post-qualification experience,
- Relevant administrative experience not below the rank of Deputy Registrar or cognate senior management position
Terms of Appointment and other Conditions of Service
- Other fringe benefits attached to the Office of the Registrar as obtainable in the conditions of service for Federal Polytechnics in Nigeria
- The tenure of office of the Registrar shall be for a period of five (5) years effective from the date of appointment and may be renewed for a further term of five (5) years except otherwise decided.
- Persons who will be more than 60 years of age by January2019 need not apply
