Job Title: DHIS Specialist

Job Profile
- The DHIS Specialist is responsible for the management of the programs database architecture to ensure secure access and availability in accordance with the needs of the programme.
- S/he will maintain the database by setting and enforcing standards and controls.
- The DHIS specialist will provide leadership, technical support and skills transfer at all levels within the GFHIV program on DHIS2 database development, configuration, management and maintenance in order to strengthen and optimize routine health information, monitoring and evaluation systems within the program.
- The DHIS specialist will have the ability to support and integrate business processes on a technical level, analyse data requirements and identify required components/elements to be structured in a multi-relationship environment within an existing or new entity; and ensure successful platform upgrades, improvements and implementation by supervising system programming and ensure security of databases.
Job Role
- Ensuring complete, accurate and quality of project data in the M&E database
- Archiving of data set and reports.
- Generation and dissemination of period reports including fact sheet for decision making
- Database Daily Backup
- Develop and customize survey data collection on tablet/ mobile phone using ICT4D
- Support reporting process to donors, by providing timely information
- To participate in in TWG meeting to support government.
- Ensure DHIS hosting subscription is renew as at when due.
- Collate the DQA data and compare with DHIS for consistency.
- Maintaining and monitoring data and databases to support the improved availability and use of process monitoring and evaluation data for programme planning, evaluation, and policy and advocacy at national and state level.
- Modification and updating of the application software module in accordance with programme requirement and specification.
- Generation and dissemination of routine reports to all project team in a timely manner.
- Analyse submitted reports and provide follow up with feedback on quarterly basis.
- Managing, troubleshooting and providing solution to all issues emanating from the use of the Application software.
- Manage and provide technical support to all users at various levels.
- Capacity building of users including training, mentoring and supportive supervisory visit.
Qualifications/Experience
- Must have a Bachelor degree in any field preferably in Sciences or Social Science.
- Master's degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage
- Must possess a minimum of 3 years post NYSC experience
- Must have experienced working with one of DHIS 2.0 software
- Must have experience in project monitoring, evaluation and data management
