Clickatell Messaging helps businesses with mobile customer engagement using SMS. Clickatell MTS offers simplified mobile transactions for services such as pre-paid mobile top-ups.   • We're looking for a solutions-oriented, tech-savvy Project Manager, who is eager to manage outsourced professional services solutions and other strategic MTS projects within the mobile landscape in Africa and beyond.
  • The MTS Project Manager will ensure the delivery of outstanding mobile applications for our financial services industry customers.
Requirements The Role of our Champion:
  • Plan and manage projects from brief, through budgeting, planning and delivery
  • Manage the day-to-day client liaison through meetings and written correspondence, hold weekly project status meetings ensuring all relevant decisions and discussions are documented
  • Involve the Programme Manager on all relevant issues: status of business, brand health, projects, timings etc.
  • Facilitate the creation and maintenance of project documentation, plans and reports. Produce consolidated reporting to the business and/or client, including milestone summary, key issues, risks, benefits, summary of costs incurred.
  • Project reconciliation (budget versus actual and billing versus cost) and profitability where applicable
  • Review project activities for compliance with procedures and standards.
  • Perform adhoc project administration duties and responsibilities as assigned and required by the Programme Manager
  • Develop, in conjunction with the Project Sponsor, a definition of the project. As the Project Manager ensure that the project is delivered on time, to budget and to the required quality standards (within agreed specifications).
  • Manage relationships with a wide range of groups (including internal and external stakeholders/contributors) in a hybrid project management methodology environment. At times this may involve managing the work of consultants and or vendors to reach our objectives.
  • Produce project artefacts (i.e. Project Charters, Comprehensive reports, etc.).
  • Facilitate the management of the Project Repository and any applicable project meetings.
  • Manage projects from initiation through to closure of the project
  • Provide other administrative support as required
  • Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes to project scope, schedule and costs
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Attend and/or facilitate weekly progress meetings with project team and other key stakeholders
  • Create appropriate weekly & monthly project status reports
  • Perform risk management to minimise project risks
  • Work with customer professional services needs in partnership with technology vendors, software engineers and project stakeholders.
  • Have a deep understanding of all projects in your portfolio through identifying and managing cross-project dependencies internally and externally

Our Champion's Journey so far:
  • At least 2 years' experience in managing large-scale projects
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (project management related qualification essential)
  • Excellent skills in building and maintaining client relationships
  • Excellent administration, organisation and communication skills
  • Ability to write and understand business requirement specification documentation
  • Computer Literate
  • MS Office proficiency - MS Office, MS Project, MS Visio, MS OneNote and general IT Systems
  • MS Project Online, MS SharePoint, Confluence & JIRA experience will be advantageous
  • Experience in an Agile & Scrum development environment advantageous
  • Telecoms experience an advantage as well as experience in managing African projects remotely
