They operate prestigious Supermarkets, Café, Ice cream joint, Confectionary/bakery, Sharwarma and Grill & Convenience stores as well as wholesale stores and have positioned themselves in prime locations covering large demographic areas.

Job Description

Responsibilities
- Inspire and lead others towards higher levels of performance
- Formulate strategies and policies and follow these through into strategic and operational activities
- Recognize future and present requirements by customers
- Establish good rapport with existing and potential customers
- Collaborate with other members of staff that have good understanding about service requirements
- Maintain inventories and approve contracts to ensure consistent availability of the required services and merchandise
- Study trends, authorize clearance sales and also determine all required sales promotions
- Review merchandising by formulating pricing policies
- Identify profitability ratio by studying financial statements and operating statements
- Study display plans, sale promotion, and advertising towards marketing merchandise in a profitable manner.
- Manage the entire business-line & Communicate strategies to influence a diverse audience
- Solve complex problems in a rational manner
- Develop effective strategic relationships with key stakeholders – shareholders, funders, vendors, customers and partners
- Develop relationships and networks with local, national and international retail organizations in order to maintain the company’s credibility and presence
- Ensure that all setup operations are being implemented effectively and efficiently
- Business development – Develop markets, attract new customers, add new products, explore and increase market share
- Ensure the appropriate recruitment of staff to relevant positions
- Regular reporting to chairman/ CEO and shareholders
Essential Requirements
- 5+ years managerial experience
- At least 5 years’ experience in retail management (preferably grocery goods, Café, Confectionary/bakery) with tangible results is a must
- Experience in reporting directly to CEO
- University degree in relevant subject – Master's- MBA in Business Administration/ Marketing is preferred
- Ability to communicate in Hausa will be a plus.
