Roles and Responsibilities
General:

  • Ensure that the company’s IT infrastructure is designed, configured and supported in line with industry best practice and aligned to internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Maintains knowledge and documentation of the IT infrastructure and ensures that dependencies are understood and managed accordingly.
  • Ensures all incidents, changes and service requests assigned to the IT team are carried out within the service desk process, procedures and aligned to the agreed SLAs.
  • Carries out third line support for all aspects of the IT infrastructure on all sites in person, on the phone or via remote connection.
  • Keeps up-to-date with infrastructure technology developments.
  • Assist in IT strategic planning and project management.
  • Researches plans and manages infrastructure Projects.
  • Ensure the stability and security of the infrastructure undertake capacity and availability reviews to ensure infrastructure is fit for purpose now and in the future.
  • Develops the IT infrastructure to support the company’s business requirements.
  • Liaises with 3rd parties to obtain support for the IT systems.
  • Carries out advanced fault finding and problem solving of a more complex nature on software and hardware issues.
  • Provides support to the Regional IT Manager and the Head office IT where necessary.
Team Performance
  • Participates in learn activities and contribute towards improvements in departmental performance standards.
  • Monitors and reports art Service Level Agreement (SLA) performance.
  • Sets the performance standards required of colleagues identify development needs ensures colleagues receive the training and coaching required.
Project Responsibilities (where applicable):
  • Leads and assists with projects in accordance with the Company’s project management standards and processes.
Financial & Risk Management:
  • Entire all systems are backed up in line with business continuity requirements and have adequate pro action from malware and unauthorized access.
  • Disaster recovery (DR) planning and implementation and quarterly testing performed to ensure business continuity.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of B.Sc Computer Science or related course.
  • A minimum of 10 years experience designing, supporting and developing IT infrastructure servers, software and hardware products, LANs, WANs, WLANs and telephony.
  • Project and Team Management experience.
  • Microsoft MCSE/MCITP Server Administrator or Enterprise Administrator qualification.
  • Voice & Data network administration including VLANs, Trunking Routing , DNS, DHCP QOS and Firewalls.
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003 2008 & 2012 administration.
  • Microsoft Active Directory & Group Policy Management.
  • Microsoft DNS design implementation and support.
  • McAfee Enterprise EPO.
  • Advanced Networking/Troubleshooting Skills.
  • Knowledge of ITIL and its core components (ITIL Foundation desirable).
  • Linux (added advantage).
  • Access Database (added advantage).
  • Design and Implementation of remote working solutions (added advantage).
  • VOIP (added advantage).
  • Cisco Router (added advantage).
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2007/2010 (added advantage).
  • Microsoft DHCP design implementation and support.
  • Microsoft WINS design implementation and support.
  • Microsoft Windows 7/8/8.1 client administration.
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 administration.
  • Microsoft SharePoint 2007/2010 administration.
  • Understanding of Desktop application image creations maintenance and distribution.
  • Microsoft Certification Authority / 3rd Party and SSL Certificate administration.
  • VMware design, implementation and support.
  • Microsoft Remote Desktop Services administration
