Job Title: Technical Service Manager
Location: Calabar, Cross River
Job Description
- We are recruiting for the role of a 'Technical Service Manager'. The ideal candidate will report to the General Manager, organize the technical services department and in particular, control resources and utilize assets at a level commensurate with profit targets.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Ensure that quality management requirements and ISO standards are met
- Ensure that normal and preventive maintenance schedules are soundly entrenched within the department and corporate cultures of the company
- Plan, forecast and place orders (through the Finance / Admin department) for spare parts and consumables with adequate provision for minimum inventory levels to ensure continuity of departmental operations
- Plan and organize for the adequate supply of diesel for all equipment as well as the entire facilities and regularly monitor the diesel consumption of all equipment
- Maintain a full record of each equipment history (plant data; year of purchase; dates of overhauling, refurbishments and regular maintenance, etc.)
- Establish and maintain an organized department structure with detailed job descriptions for all personnel and work procedures / processes
- Continually review, benchmark, plan and implement technical strategies to ensure that Terminals develop and grow profitably
- Manages or participates in enterprise-wide or Technical Projects as directed by the General Manager
- Formulate maintenance policy for the company and monitor the implementation
- Develop periodic maintenance schedule for all terminal equipment and facilities
- Supervise the activities of the maintenance teams and ensure that equipment and facilities are adequately maintained
- Monitor and keep performance record of all terminal equipment
- Ensure Plants and Equipment downtimes are minimized by carrying out proper preventive maintenance and repairs on plants and equipment
- Determine adequate stocking level of spares for all equipment
- Develop facilities maintenance schedule to ensure that the physical environment of the terminal is kept clean and neat at all times
- Ensure that the facilities conform with prescribed environmental standards at all times
- Prepare the departmental budget with a special focus on the Operations and Commercial strategies of the terminal
- Ensure that all equipment maintenances are properly recorded with detailed costs allocation
Job Specifications
- Good University Degree / HND in Mechanical / Electrical / Civil Engineering or similar course
- Minimum of 12– 14 years quality work experience; 5 of which must have been at senior management level in a similar role
- Relevant professional accreditations / certifications
- Working Knowledge of port and shipping industry is of critical advantage
