Multipro Consumer Products Limited is the largest company in Nigeria dealing in Sales, Haulage and Logistics. MCPL was founded in 1996 as a fully owned company of the Tolaram Group. The first product sold by MCPL in 1996 was Indomie and since then it has played a seminal role in making Indomie a household brand in Nigeria. MCPL over the years has grown adding 13 brands in various categories comprising of Noodle, Snacks, Milk, Cereal, Oil, Homecare and Personal Hygiene.

Job Title: Sustainability Executive

Location: Surulere, Lagos

Job Description

  • The role involves the strategic, operational, and administrative implementation of the business’ sustainability agenda across the branches and the various departments by measuring the impact of the available policies and ESG metrics on organizational longevity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and analyze the company’s policies and processes to identify areas and processes to which improvements can be made in accordance with the organization's commitment to sustainability.
  • Brainstorms and identifies creative ways in which the company can balance business obligations with the goal of respecting, supporting, and improving the business approach to driving sustainability.
  • Understanding, keeping up to date, and compliant with the evolving regulatory environment in relation to ESG and sustainability matters
  • Carrying out materiality assessments in terms of the full value chain to identify, measure and manage the most important factor as may be required.
  • Carrying out risk assessments in relation to sustainability matters.
  • Drafts and prepares reports, presentations, and proposals; presents proposals and recommendations to key stakeholders.
  • Develops and maintains appropriate documentation and records including budgets and other financials.
  • Prepares documentation required for project funding for various sustainability initiatives.
  • Maintains current working knowledge of, and ensures compliance with, all applicable stakeholders on sustainability issues.
  • Identifies and facilitates training as may be required.
  • Understanding sustainability maturity by carrying out peer reviews and benchmarks.
  • Provide ESG expertise to deliver ESG due diligence and value-creation projects.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of ESG developments in the FMCG industry.
  • Developing materials and delivering training from C-suite to staff members.
  • Gauging current ESG situation, including but not limited to carbon emission footprint.
  • Building relationships with colleagues across multiple service lines to provide seamlessly integrated services.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Eligibility Criteria
Understanding/experience in:

  • Sustainability Materiality Assessment
  • Green Assurance/Verification/Evaluation/Rating
  • Carbon Accounting/Emission Verification
  • ESG tools and framework
  • Environmental topics such as waste, water, biodiversity/air quality
  • Energy efficiency and energy audit
  • Resource efficiency and circular economy
  • Environmental & Social Impact Assessments

Skills Requirements:

  • Be a self-starter who takes ownership of tasks and proactively seeks out ways to better address sustainability needs.
  • Confidence to research and resolve emerging issues including regulations, industry practices, and new technologies.
  • Demonstrate strong writing skills and ability to translate recommendations and other ideas effectively and concisely in reports, presentation materials, and other written communications.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills to handle numerous data sources, input, and data gaps concurrently.
  • Thorough and current knowledge of sustainability practices, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ability to analyze and understand research and to identify relevant and valuable information.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to create, interpret, and execute a budget.
  • Presentation skills required to deliver proposals to varying groups of individuals.
  • Be a team player and leader and be committed to achieving common goals.
  • With support from team leadership, ability to design and execute a logical phased approach to understand complex issues and recommend insightful and pragmatic solutions.
