Supervisor - Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) at Bell Oil and Gas Limited


Bell Oil and Gas is an indigenous oilfield services company operation in the upstream sector of Nigeria's oil and gas industry.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Supervisor - Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE)

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Overall Purpose of the Role

  • Coordinating the implementation and maintenance of the company’s quality management system.
  • Administering and improving the company’s QA programs in accordance with recognized international standards.
  • Coordinating the identification, assessment, and mitigation of all risks to the company’s business.

Responsibilities
Quality Assurance and Risk Management Plans:

  • Performing the QA of the company.
  • Upgrading, as may be required, and implementing the company’s Quality management system, and ensuring continued compliance with ISO9001:2015 Standard.
  • Improving the level of awareness and conformance to QHSE and Security standards by staff through effective trainings and communication.
  • Developing, revising, implementing, and improving the company QHSE Procedures.
  • Managing the company’s risk mitigation programmes in liaison with all Heads of Departments across the company and projects.

QA Management Standard Compliance:

  • Tracking and documenting company QA performances; and reviewing them to ensure that company QA targets are achieved.

Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Standards Compliance:

  • Publicizing annual safety management performances and milestone achievements.
  • Planning and monitoring of security management programmes for the company’s operations and projects.
  • Ensure proper delivery and receipt and conducting radiation surveys on all shipments of radioactive materials arriving at or leaving the company premises.
  • Implementing STOP WORK authority for all activities hazardous to health and safety, the environment or company’s corporate image.
  • Implementing emergency recovery activities and decontamination programmes across the company’s operations.
  • Ensuring compliance with rules and regulations, license conditions and conditions of project approvals as authorized by the Nigeria Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA).
  • Maintaining an inventory of all radioisotopes in the company premises and limiting the quantity of radio nuclides to the quantity allowed by the NNRA license.

Quality Assurant and Quality Control:

  • Ensuring processes and procedures improvement across departments.
  • Planning and verifying the adherence of the company to all client quality requirements.
  • Coordinating all Quality related correspondences with clients.
  • Actioning and closing all customer quality complaints.

Internal and External Audits:

  • Coordinating company’s internal and external QA audits.
  • Manage the whole process of internal and external audits in line with Quality & HSE Policies of BOG and ensure follow through of fallouts across the company.
  • Schedule Management Review session after external audits with the DMD for the review of Audit outputs.

Specification

  • A good First Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of Quality and HSE (QHSE) experience.
  • Experience in achieving Quality certifications is an added advantage.
  • Certifications in Quality management systems, Health and safety management systems and environmental management systems.
  • Excellent administration, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literate and capability to manage company’s QHSE databases.
  • A team player.
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Proven knowledge of internal/external quality audit processes.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 Standards.
  • Demonstrable ability to implement and supervise Quality and HSE Management systems.
  • Very sound written, communication and presentation skills.
