Job Title: Subject Specialist - English Language

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

• We are looking for the best and the brightest people passionate about education, not only in Nigeria but across Africa. In this position, you will lead a small team of English Language educational innovators to design and execute the future of how Africans will learn English Language.

Job Responsibilities

• Contribute to the ongoing development of the English Language curriculum for learners across different geographies and demographics. Starting with Nigeria and going into the rest of Africa.
• Collaborate with the internal team to come up with fresh and creative ways of developing material.
• Research grade-appropriate material, children's literature.
• Participate in rigorous peer review processes with the goal of improving the quality and pedagogical creativity of the product.
• Develop the lesson plans through which we conceptualise Edukoya’s learning material, competitive/non-competitive exam prep solutions and homework solutions.
• Develop & Review solutions, story scripts, quizzes, videos, lessons, and games and ensure all content meets pedagogical objectives and is age-appropriate.
• Stay abreast of education trends and best practices.
• Participate in multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines.
• Provide subject vision and lead the subject team to meet goals and hit monthly KPI’s.

Job Requirements

• A minimum of a Master’s Degree in English Language, or other relevant study areas. (BSc: first-class & 2:1 only )
• Prior experience and in-depth knowledge of the Nigerian English Language Curriculum
• At least 5-15 years of experience as a professional teacher/ professor.
• Flexibility with a strong sense of ownership for work.
• The ability to write clearly and concisely.
• Experience working with examination boards preferred
• Coordination and time management skills.
• Honesty, integrity and an excellent work ethic.
• Strong problem solving and communication abilities.
• Excited by and open to new ideas and new ways of doing things.
• A thorough understanding of English Language across all levels of primary and secondary education.
• Proficiency with Computers, Google Cloud, MS Word, and similar tools.
