Job Title: Store Manager
Location: Lagos
Responsibilities
- Maintain daily records of shipments, Suggested Stock Orders and invoices to see what products need to be replenished.
- Responsible for receiving and logging all incoming inventory from the merchandising unit into the store. The employee must complete physical inventory count as required by the company policy.
- To ensure that inventory is disbursed to the shop-floor promptly and in the right quantity and make sure it is appropriately recorded.
- Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities
- Examine and inspect stock items for defects, reporting any damage to Supervisor.
- Generate requisition for all stock items, while maintaining stock and re-order level at all times. And ensure first in first out rule (F.I.F.O.).
- Maintain daily/weekly cycle counts of all stock items and submit stock level to the Supervisor.
- Preparing and monitoring store staff job results/work schedules by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
- Identifying current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements
- Securing merchandise by ensuring security systems and measures are functioning
- Study sales numbers, supply needs and vendor availabilities to come up with an estimated amount of stock to maintain.
- Responsible for continuous monitoring and controlling of stock levels, back order demands using appropriate documentation. (Bin card, GRN, Requisition etc)
- Introduce and implement internal controls that protect the inventory from damage, loss and theft.
- To ensure that acceptable and accurate inventory levels are maintained at all times. He/she must discuss shortages, overages and all inventory levels for weekly/monthly replenishment to the merchandise manager and CEO
- To coordinate the classification, labeling and warehousing of all inventory within the company’s store.
- Supervises and reviews the daily organization and operation of the store, ensuring that the warehouse is optimally capable and functional.
- To create and strictly adhere to a control system that will aid in the reduction of damages, breakages and inventory obsolescence.
- Responsible for preparing work schedules for the team.
- Any other duties that may be assigned to you by management from time to time.
Requirements- B.Sc. or HND in a related field
- 4-6 years’ work experience in store or inventory management. Experience in similar background will be an advantage
- Leadership and interpersonal skills capable of building strong working relationships and influencing and customers and internal teams
- Strong commercial understanding of business issues/opportunities
- Strong understanding of sales and marketing strategy and planning issues
- Strong analytical skills with ability to develop strategies, tactics and measurable implementation
- Ability to think outside the box
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to develop inventory strategies location wise
- Ability to speed up stock turnover in the store and enhance business profitability
- Result oriented, entrepreneurial and self-motivating
- Tenacious and resilient, driven to achieve even when faced with obstacles
