KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation is an international non-profit organization dedicated to the fight against tuberculosis (TB), still the deadliest infectious disease in the world. KNCV is an international center of expertise for TB control that promotes effective, efficient, innovative and sustainable TB control strategies in a national and international context.  We are an organization of passionate TB professionals, including doctors, researchers, training experts, nurses and epidemiologists. We aim to stop the spread of the worldwide epidemic of TB and to prevent the further spread of drug-resistant TB.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:



Job Title: Senior Program Officer

Location: Delta
Employment Type: Full-time

Purpose of Job

  • The Senior Program Officer is expected to be embedded with the state TB program team and will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of all TB LON Regions 1 & 2 project activities in collaboration with the State TB team and other TB LON Regions 1 & 2 project Strategic Service Package Providers (SSPP).
  • Hierarchically, The Senior Program Officer reports to the Senior Program Manager

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Implementation of TB LON 1 and 2 project across all LGAs in the State
  • Provide Technical leadership to all TB LON 1 and 2 staff and adhoc staff in the state  
  • Develop Monthly Implementation/operational plan and ensure implementation of all TB LON 1 and 2 Project strategies and interventions
  • Support state TB program on coordination of prompt treatment initiation and monitoring of all diagnosed TB patients in the community
  • Support state TB program on routine data analysis & utilization
  • Coordinate the Project portfolio to ensure key performance indicators (KPI) are met on TB LON Regions 1 & 2 project is in line with strategy
  • Ensure that TB LON Regions 1 & 2 project reports are developed and submitted on time; are of good quality, and the evidence they contain is accurately captured and submitted monthly to the Project Director
  • Ensure regular monthly coordination and planning meetings are held with the state TB team and partners.
  • Organize & conduct regular health facility supervision to ensure quality TB, TB/HIV, DR-TB surveillance and service delivery
  • Build capacity of TB program staff to implement Quality Improvement approaches in Childhood TB, DR-TB and TB/HIV to improve TB case detection
  • Support the State TB program to create awareness and demand for TB services.
  • Organize & conduct regular visits to health facilities to ensure timely data collection, compilation and reporting according to TB LON Regions 1 & 2 M&E plan
  • Perform other additional duties assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • A Degree in Medicine MBBS (an MPH degree will be an additional advantage)
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in public health project.
  • Experience with USAID or UN projects or any development partner is an advantage.
  • Strong coordination, planning, and supervisory skills.
  • Experience in community mobilization efforts.
  • Experience managing complex Health data.
  • Excellent written and verbal English language Ability.
  • Must be self-starter with the ability to work in a team, dynamic, solid, and open.
  • Must be flexible with absolute integrity, organizational awareness and understanding of cultural differences.
  • Have a high sense of integrity and transparency.
  • Ability to manage official information in a confidential manner.
  • Ability to use multi-task and work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Competent with operational plan development, implementation and evaluation of results.
  • Comfortable planning and delivering multiple activities under pressure to strict deadlines with high levels of precision.
  • Self-motivated with a strong ability to identify and develop relevant areas of work.
  • Able to communicate complex issues in a concise, accessible and engaging manner. Experience in coordinating multiple party stakeholder.
  • Experience in wide scale community-based intervention.
