Lady Helen Child Health Foundation (LHCHF) was established to provide suitable evidence-based healthcare and information/support to needy children and families in a timely manner. We hope to support and improve the governance tree in healthcare provision in this arena. This Foundation is a testimony and acknowledgement of the valuable contributions to child welfare by the Late Lady Helen Odeka who devoted over 50 years of her working life to promoting the health and well-being of newborns, infants, children and adolescents in Nigeria. The challenge of this group and the absence of reproducible health care of quality meant that such a gap needed bridging. This is the void that Lady Helen Child Health Foundation will strive to fill.

Job Title: Research Assistant

Location: Garki, Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time (Flexible Options Available)

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support our research initiatives.
  • The ideal candidate will assist in data collection, analysis, literature reviews, and report preparation.
  • This role is crucial in ensuring the success of our health research projects aimed at improving child healthcare outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing and conducting research studies related to child health.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Perform literature reviews and summarize key findings.
  • Facilitate the organization of LHCHF Seminars.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical research guidelines and protocols.
  • Collaborate with research teams, healthcare professionals, and stakeholders.
  • Assist in the dissemination of research findings through publications and conferences.
  • Prepare research reports, presentations, and grant proposals.
  • facilitate development of training curriculum.
  • Create a usable database with computer savvy stance and maintain/update organizational contact lists/database.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Education, Public Health, Social Sciences, Medical Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 18 months of experience in research, preferably in a healthcare or academic setting.
  • Proficiency in research software such as SPSS, NVivo, or similar tools is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to research integrity.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
