Job Summary
- We are seeking a highly experienced and accomplished Senior Litigator to join our prestigious law firm.
- The ideal candidate will possess extensive courtroom experience, exceptional legal acumen, and a proven track record of successfully managing complex litigation cases from inception through trial and appeal.
- The Senior Litigator will provide strategic legal counsel, mentor junior attorneys, and play a pivotal role in shaping the firm's litigation practice.
Key Responsibilities
Case Management:
- Lead and manage complex litigation cases, including commercial, civil, and criminal matters.
- Develop and implement case strategies, conduct thorough legal research, and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Represent clients in court, including pre-trial hearings, trials, and appellate arguments.
- Negotiate settlements and alternative dispute resolutions.
Team Leadership:
- Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and legal staff, providing guidance and support in case preparation and litigation techniques.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance the litigation skills of the legal team.
Business Development:
- Contribute to the firm’s business development efforts by identifying and pursuing new client opportunities.
- Participate in networking events, industry conferences, and professional associations to enhance the firm's visibility and reputation.
- Assist in developing marketing strategies and materials to attract new clients.
Client Relations:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing expert legal advice and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Conduct client consultations, assess legal issues, and develop case plans aligned with clients' objectives.
- Communicate case progress and outcomes effectively to clients.
Compliance and Ethics:
- Ensure all legal activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards.
- Uphold the highest standards of professional ethics and integrity in all dealings.
Qualifications
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) Degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10-15 years of litigation experience, with a significant portion in a senior or lead role.
- Proven track record of successfully handling complex litigation cases from start to finish.
- Experience in a specific area of law (e.g., corporate, commercial, intellectual property, criminal) is preferred.
Skills:
- Exceptional legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage multiple high-stakes cases simultaneously.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

N650,000 - N1,000,000 monthly.
