Ave Maria Microfinance Bank of the Catholic Diocese of Oyo is one of the subsidiaries of our Ave Maria Multipurpose Investment Limited. It is a faith-based Micro Finance Bank established by the Catholic Diocese of Oyo to cater for all people, with emphasis on the poor and the vulnerable irrespective of religion, race, age or gender who are financially excluded. The Bank was officially incorporated as a bank by theCorporate Affairs Commission with registration number RC 1927811 and was finally licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Company Secretary / Legal and Human Resources (HR) Manager

Location: Oyo Town, Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain corporate records and filings.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and employee welfare.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and organizational policies.
  • Organize meetings and keep minutes.

Job Description

  • Provides corporate governance support while managing the organization's Human Resources Department.
  • Responsible for managing the legal unit, providing legal advisory services to the business, and ensuring effective management of legal and contractual risks.
  • Responsibilities also include ensuring compliance with appropriate statutory and regulatory provisions, and management of board relationships.
  • Review and play sufficient role in the administration of all expenditure of the bank in line with the approved budget and organizational policy.
  • Provide all guidance, leadership support and strategic direction in the execution of the duties in Legal unit of the bank.
  • Keep abreast of best practices, changes in regulation, amendment of enabling laws and advice the organization accordingly.
  • Responsible for administrative activities of the bank.
  • Provide advisory services on issues that relate to legal and regulatory requirements and liaise with relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Manage relationships with external solicitors and ensure compliance with agreed service levels.
  • Draft, negotiate, administer, interpret and advise on agreements, letters, forms and other legal documents related to the organization as required.
  • Participate in the articulation of the organization’s strategic goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Law, Business Administration, or HR-related fields.
  • MCIB Certificate will be an added advantage.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Good understanding of labor law.
  • NYSC discharge Certificate or Exemption Certificate.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Demonstrated Managerial/Leadership Competencies:Strong sense of personal integrity, attention to detail, flexibility, and ability to work with people with diverse culture, religious background, and ethnicity.
  • Work Experience: Approximately 3 - 4 years of professional experience in HR, Administration/Office Management.
  • Demonstrated Technical Skills:Previous experience with Human Resources generalist.
  • HR certifications and trainings if any, will be an added advantage.

Computer / Other Tech Requirements:

  • Full professional competency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
