Job Title: Senior Investment Officer (SIO)

Location: Lagos

Role Overview

  • We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Investment Officer (SIO) to manage and optimize our investment portfolio.
  • The SIO will provide critical insights, conduct detailed market and portfolio reviews, and ensure effective communication with the management and board to guide strategic investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Reviews:

  • Evaluate GTL’s portfolio of listed and unlisted assets using key metrics such as price-to-earnings ratios, dividend yields, price-to-book values, and other valuation tools.
  • Provide detailed reports to management, recommending strategies to enhance portfolio value.

Market Reviews:

  • Analyze changes in public markets and economic conditions to assess their impact on the portfolio.
  • Utilize data-driven tools and reports (public and private) to present updates and implications for GTL’s investment strategy.

Quarterly Presentations:

  • Prepare comprehensive quarterly reports on portfolio performance, emphasizing new opportunities and potential risks.
  • Present findings to the Board Investment Committee to support decision-making for portfolio adjustments and new investments.

Monthly Reports:

  • Deliver timely monthly reports to ensure management is informed of significant changes affecting portfolio value.
  • Highlight actionable insights using key investment metrics.

Project Due Diligence:

  • Conduct periodic site visits to unlisted projects or projects under construction to assess progress and provide updates to management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Investment Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with experience delivering reports to executive teams and boards.
  • Strong understanding of listed and unlisted assets and their respective market dynamics.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • 7 - 10 years of experience in investment management or a related role.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in valuation techniques and market analysis.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and data-driven reporting tools.
