Job Title: Senior Finance Associate

Responsibilities

  • The incumbent will support the management of financial operations in the central office and monitor field expenses per individual grant and ensure compliance with U.S.G rules and regulation and /or other grants financial Management policies.
  • Responsible for preparation of all donor specific financial reports and management financial reports
  • Ensure the security, relevancy and applicability of Accounting software in use
  • Ensure all relevant Government Acts, Rules, and Regulations like provision of taxation, Filling of Annual returns, withholding tax, Personal Income Tax etc. are followed
  • Implement relevant accounting standards, audit standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Practice
  • Implement all Financial and Accounting Policy Manual, Human Resources and Administrative guidelines to the extent applicable to finance & accounting.
  • Implement all donors and country-specific internal policy guidelines and coordinate financial reviews and audits.
  • The unit support program implementation in the sources and disbursement funds, financial reporting, and budgeting and controls among these core functions listed below:
  • Manages the sourcing and efficient disbursement of funds from donors, managing bank accounts and overseeing money transfers between head-offices, state offices, field offices, third parties and program beneficiaries, processing cheques, reviewing payrolls and other payments.
  • Track all expenditure against budget and ensuring costs charged to an award are reasonable, allocable and allowable
  • Ensure timely recording of all accounting transactions in General Ledger
  • Bookkeeping and maintenance of accounting records that are at all times accurate, substantiated, up to date and sufficiently detailed

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or in related field with membership and part certification in professional association i.e. ICAN, ACCA or recognized equivalent. Is a requirement.
  • Minimum of 3 years in financial management, accounting, and administration working experience with an international NGO working with USG funding is an added advantage.
  • Working knowledge of USG rules and regulation including HSS grant policy, 45 CFR 75, A122 other donor regulations and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, to be able to accept and discharge substantial responsibilities, to prioritize work assignments and meet deadlines. Support the process of developing COP budget and work plans.
