Overview
- We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Medical Doctor to join our research team as a Research Assistant.
- In this role, you will play a key role in supporting our research initiatives by performing clinical data analysis, coordinating patient recruitment efforts, and managing our biobank resources.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medicine, experience in clinical research, and proficiency in data analysis and biobanking techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct clinical data analysis using electronic health records (EHRs), clinical databases, and other sources to support research projects and initiatives.
- Collaborate with researchers and clinicians to identify research questions, develop study protocols, and analyze clinical data to generate insights and discoveries.
- Assist in patient recruitment efforts for research studies, including screening, enrollment, and follow-up activities.
- Perform quality control checks on biobank specimens and data to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate access to biobank resources for research projects and collaborations.
- Participate in training sessions and educational activities to enhance knowledge and skills in clinical research, data analysis, and biobanking best practices.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient information, study data, and research documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements and institutional protocols.
- Coordinate the collection, processing, and storage of biological samples in the biobank, ensuring proper handling, labeling, and documentation of specimens.
- Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for biobanking activities, including specimen collection, processing, and distribution.
- Monitor inventory levels of biobank supplies and reagents, and coordinate procurement and replenishment as needed.
Qualifications
- Medical Degree from an accredited institution, with a focus on clinical practice and patient care.
- Experience working in clinical research settings, with a strong understanding of research methodologies, study design, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in data analysis techniques and software tools commonly used in clinical research, such as statistical analysis software and database management systems.
- Familiarity with biobanking principles, practices, and regulations governing the collection, storage, and use of biological specimens in research.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and privacy of patient information and research data in accordance with ethical and regulatory standards.
- Experience with patient recruitment activities, including informed consent processes, eligibility screening, and participant enrollment, is preferred but not required.
- Prior experience with biobank management, sample processing, and quality assurance/control procedures is desirable but not required.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
