Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Medical Officer to join our team.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of our health programs, providing clinical expertise, and ensuring high-quality healthcare services are delivered to our target populations.

Key Responsibilities

Provide clinical guidance and support to program staff and community health workers.
Conduct medical assessments and screenings as needed.
Ensure adherence to medical protocols and best practices.
Participate in the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and protocols.
Provide technical expertise and guidance on the development and implementation of health programs.
Participate in capacity-building activities for healthcare providers and community members.
Collaborate with local health authorities and other stakeholders to improve access to quality healthcare services.
Participate in advocacy efforts to address critical health issues.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the health sector.
Participate in relevant meetings and workshops.
Prepare reports and other documentation as required.
Contribute to the development of proposals and other funding applications.
Assist in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Participate in the training and capacity building of community health workers.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health interventions.
Contribute to the design and implementation of health programs, ensuring medical accuracy and feasibility.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health interventions.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized university.
Current medical license to practice in Nigeria.
Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a clinical setting, preferably in a public health or community-based setting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience working with NGOs or international development organizations.
Knowledge of research methodologies and data analysis software.
Experience in training and capacity building.
Fluency in local languages.
Training and facilitation skills.
Experience in proposal writing and grant management.
Strong knowledge of maternal and child health issues in Nigeria.
Experience in program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Strong commitment to improving the health and well-being of women, infants, and children.
