Job Description
- We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Medical Officer to join our team.
- The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of our health programs, providing clinical expertise, and ensuring high-quality healthcare services are delivered to our target populations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical guidance and support to program staff and community health workers.
- Conduct medical assessments and screenings as needed.
- Ensure adherence to medical protocols and best practices.
- Participate in the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and protocols.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on the development and implementation of health programs.
- Participate in capacity-building activities for healthcare providers and community members.
- Collaborate with local health authorities and other stakeholders to improve access to quality healthcare services.
- Participate in advocacy efforts to address critical health issues.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the health sector.
- Participate in relevant meetings and workshops.
- Prepare reports and other documentation as required.
- Contribute to the development of proposals and other funding applications.
- Assist in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Participate in the training and capacity building of community health workers.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health interventions.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of health programs, ensuring medical accuracy and feasibility.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health interventions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized university.
- Current medical license to practice in Nigeria.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a clinical setting, preferably in a public health or community-based setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience working with NGOs or international development organizations.
- Knowledge of research methodologies and data analysis software.
- Experience in training and capacity building.
- Fluency in local languages.
- Training and facilitation skills.
- Experience in proposal writing and grant management.
- Strong knowledge of maternal and child health issues in Nigeria.
- Experience in program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Strong commitment to improving the health and well-being of women, infants, and children.
