Quality Assurance Officer at West African Soy Industries Limited (WASIL)


West African Soy Industries Limited (WASIL) operates one of the largest specialized oils and fats processing complexes in Africa. The manufacturing facility is located in Sagamu, Ogun State, Nigeria, with raw materials sourced from farmers in Kaduna, Katsina, Niger and other states across Nigeria.

The Company is active in the Soy value chain through its out-grower farming activities by providing high quality agri-inputs to farmers and procuring farm produce from them through off-take arrangements. We educate the farmers on Yield Enhancement Techniques (YET) to improve their crop yield, and train women on best practices in Shea collection and primary processing.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Quality Assurance Officer

Location: Sagamu, Ogun

 Job Description

  • Sample, analyse and test all Incoming materials against approved specifications.
  • Ensure incoming materials are being tested according to approved specifications and operating procedures.
  • Report deviations to departmental head and takes necessary action
  • Required to have full testing knowledge on Soya bean seed, Sheanut, Palm kernel, Rice bran raw material quality.
  • Analyse of all kind of in process samples (Prep, SEP, Refinery) & reporting to concerned Head for necessary action as per approved quality plan.
  • Analyse and Reporting of all kind of in-coming Raw materials (Seed, Oil, Process chemicals) as per quality plan and taking decision for acceptance/Rejection as per approved specification.
  • Ensure data are used or processed for the purpose set for such data and ensure absolute confidentiality while processing or using personal data. Get the consent of the data subject before collecting, processing, and using data
  • Adhere to the requirements of FSSC, Feed Safety, GMP and QMS as it relates to my job function.
  • Maintain process records & rough work records up to date generation of COA & Documentation
  • Acid Oil plant samples, Lecithin, Bi-product samples (Fatty acid) analysis, reporting and documentation.
  • Reagent preparations, standardisation and labelling
  • Maintain records and documentation.
  • Flexible to work at any place in QC areas (like dispatch, incoming, In process/FG areas etc…)

Requirements

  • Degree in Chemistry or a related discipline
  • Good knowledge of GLP 
  • Minimum of 2 – 3 years in Solvent Extraction Edible Oil Industry.
