Job Title: QA / QC Welding Inspector

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full Time

Job Description

  • The QA/QC Welding Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of welds used in our projects.
  • You will be responsible for inspecting welding procedures, materials, and finished welds by industry standards and project specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections of welding procedures, welder qualifications, welding consumables, and base materials to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards (e.g., AWS, ASME)
  • Perform visual inspections of welds to identify potential defects (cracks, porosity, undercuts, etc.)
  • Identify and report potential quality issues and recommend corrective actions
  • Participate in project meetings and discussions related to welding quality control activities
  • Collaborate with engineers, welders, and other team members to ensure seamless project execution
  • Utilize non-destructive testing (NDT) methods (as required) to verify the integrity of welds
  • Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports, documenting findings and recommendations

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a QA/QC Welding Inspection role
  • CSWIP qualification 
  • Strong understanding of welding processes, materials, and inspection techniques
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and reporting skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel)
  • Experience with NDT methods (e.g., VT, PT, MT, UT) is a plus
  • Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment (gauges, calipers, welding machines, NDT equipment)
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
