Qatar Charity is a Doha-based non-governmental organization founded in 1992 in accordance with the laws and regulations governing charitable work in the State of Qatar. The Qatari society expressed a deep willingness to contribute to the international solidarity chain and to participate in addressing the most important development and humanitarian challenges faced by vulnerable communities around the world. This willingness was derived from the Qatari society’s values, principles and cultural heritage and Qatar Charity came as the institutional solution that would cater to it. Initially founded to provide life-saving assistance to children affected by conflicts or natural disasters, Qatar Charity then expanded its areas of expertise to include various humanitarian and development aid fields, providing relief and assistance to more than 110 million beneficiaries worldwide. With funding from Qatar, Qatar Charity is collaborating with the government of Nigeria (GON) to support vulnerable communities in achieving progress and prosperity by providing adequate support for vulnerable communities through robust social welfare systems and related services in various states within Nigeria.

Qatar Charity Nigeria Country Office has over 3,500 projects in different intervention areas namely: Education and Culture, Health, Water, economic empowerment, social housing, social care, food security, and Emergency Relief projects. Job Title: Project Supervisor

Job Code: PS 001
Locations: Abuja and Kaduna
Employment Type: Contract

Job Purpose

  • The project Supervisor will work closely with the project officer) and QC team in National office Abuja and other related departments to ensure quality and timely construction of SANABIL Project in Kaduna State.

General Responsibilities

  • Supervises the contractor, his sub-contractors, and nominated sub-contractors.
  • Liaise with project consultants where necessary.
  • To ensure compliance with specifications.
  • To ensure timely delivery of SANABIL Project.

Specific Responsibilities

  • implement project plans by reviewing project proposals in consultation with the management and related staff (project officer).
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Regularly sharing relevant updates and feedback on the project with the management
  • Develop quality aspects, criteria, and indicators for construction-related work and ensure the achievement of these standards by the contractors.
  • Effective liaison and coordination with project stakeholders to ensure quality and implementation of activities on time.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains reputation and credibility by complying with all the relevant official regulations.
  • Undertakes frequent visits daily to the project site.
  • Provide recommendations to management for improving work standards/ethics on site.
  • Supervises the contractor and sub-contractors and gives him/them the necessary guidance to do his work.
  • Supports management in all engineering aspects related to the construction works.
  • Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements.
  • Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
  • Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, plan and schedule changes, and recommending actions.
  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends and implementing recommended actions.
  • Administers the implementation of the agreement signed with the Implementing Partner for the construction of SANABIL Project
  • Administers the implementation of the contract signed with the consulting engineering company.

Qualifications

  • University Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or any other relevant field.
  • Experience in Construction management, building technology, program design, and project implementation.
  • Excellent Computer skills (Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, SAP2000 (or similar like IdeCAD), Primavera (or similar like ASTA), SketchUp (or similar like Revit Architecture)).
  • Visit the project site in Kaduna daily or when required
  • ONLY local indigene will be considered with strong written and verbal skills in English.
