Job Title: Planning Officer

Location: Ogun
Employment Type: Full time

Key Job Responsibilities

  • To ensure prompt materials requirement planning and issuance of purchase requisitions for procurement of direct materials for production use.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares monthly/quarterly/annual material requirement plans as per the sales forecasts and production phasing to ensure timely procurement of materials for production use.
  • Participates in the Sales and Operations Planning Process (S&OP) through relevant planning reporting and summary of key planning constraints.
  • Maintains strong communications with production team and procurement officers to confirm production/shipping schedules and monitor open purchase orders.
  • Establishes effective relationships with key internal stakeholders to achieve quality standards and improvements on a continuous basis.
  • Prepares monthly report on planning activities.
  • Ensures purchase requisitions are executed promptly as required to foster effective procurement of materials.
  • Responsible for monitoring raw and packaging materials stock levels, to avoid sudden stock outs.
  • Maintains optimum inventory stock levels by reducing material wastages due to overstocking and expiration of materials.
  • Any other responsibility as assigned by the Head, Planning and Procurement.

  • Openness, transparency and efficiency of the planning process.

Qualifications

  • A B.Sc. in Science or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 years cognate experience in similar role.

Competencies Required:

  • Good knowledge of best practices in planning and procurement
  • Analytical and Proactive
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (MS Excel and other analytical tools), ERP - Microsoft Navision.
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
