Job Description
- The Supply & Demand Planner is responsible for managing the supply chain processes, including forecasting demand, planning inventory levels, and ensuring optimal stock availability to meet customer needs in a fast-paced FMCG environment.
- This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments to ensure seamless operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts using historical data, market trends, and sales insights.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to incorporate promotional activities and new product launches into demand planning.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability while minimising excess inventory and stockouts.
- Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance supply chain efficiency and effectiveness.
- Utilize supply chain management software and tools to streamline planning processes.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by maintaining appropriate stock levels to meet customer demand.
- Address and resolve any supply chain issues that may impact service level.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products and materials.
- Monitor inventory turnover and develop strategies to improve inventory efficiency.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
- Work closely with production, logistics, and sales teams to align supply and demand strategies.
- Facilitate cross-functional meetings to discuss forecasting accuracy and inventory performance.
- Prepare and present regular reports on demand forecasting, inventory levels, and supply chain performance to senior management.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 3 - 5 years of experience in supply chain planning, demand forecasting, or inventory management, preferably in an FMCG environment.
- Familiarity with supply chain software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar tools).
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
