Job Title: Petty Cashier and Bank Relation Officer
Location: Mowe Town, Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time

Position Summary

  • Under the direction of the Staff Accountant, the Accounting Assistant has two major functions: accounts payable and petty cash / gift card processing. This position works with confidential information and as such, must maintain the department standards of strict confidentiality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Accounts Payable:

  • Receives all invoices and check requests and prepares for approval by managers.
  • Enters all accounts payable (A/P) system invoices weekly as per schedule.
  • Prints the check run.
  • Updates the vendor list.
  • Coordinates obtaining approval on all invoices prior to processing.
  • Prepares general invoice batches weekly.

Duties:

  • Handles petty cash fund reimbursements for all agency funds.
  • Manages gift card process:
  • Organize and inventory all donated gift cards received
  • Reviews certificate requests from managers and distribute gift cards in accordance with agency policy.
  • Miscellaneous Duties: Performs other duties as assigned
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education / Experience

  • Ordinary National Diploma in Accounting
  • 1 - 2 years of experience.
  • Must be at least 20-35 years of age.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Ability to interact well with the public (i.e. donors, vendors, volunteers, etc.).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in an efficient manner.
  • Ability to effectively operate office equipment.
  • Skill to maintain a professional, confidential work environment. Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Ability to compile technical information and prepare clear, concise reports
  • Strong typing skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with a culturally diverse work force. Knowledge of basic mathematics.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and web browsers.
  • Ability to proficiently use accounting software.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
