Job Description
- This role's purpose is to provide financial business partnering to the GM Africa Partner Markets, Commercial, Marketing and Supply Governance teams.
- The role provides end to end financial stewardship for the Africa Partner Market operations, end to end cycle of revenue, forecasting and planning activities.
- The role will have shared accountability for the delivery of financial goals (NSV, Margin, OP, Cash and Market Share) organically as well as deliver against the A&P plan and overhead targets.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop financial strategies and interventions to enable the delivery of APM’s financial plans, partnering with various functions.
- Responsible for budgeting, accurate volume and revenue forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Identify trends and opportunities to deliver revenue growth, profitability and cost optimisation.
- Champion and ensure a strong Controls, Compliance and Ethics agenda in line with relevant financial regulations, standards, policies and CARM controls framework.
- Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders – banks, auditors and regulatory bodies.
- Support partners with capability building on financial management practices.
- Facilitate effective communication between partners and Diageo stakeholders.
- Manage, review and report on financial forecasts including comprehensive variance identification in forecast versus actuals and plan.
- Identify risks to the plan and generate ideas to solve for variances to plan.
- Deliver excellent decision support, business performance management (BPM) and present financial performance insights to senior stakeholders and external partners.
- Responsible to managing trade spend, A&P and overheads within approved limits, leads on the S&OP process and M&E.
- Monitor the financial metrics to assess the health of the business.
Experience, Qualifications and Skills
Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or related subjects
- Either CA/CIMA Qualification
Experience:
- 7+ years’ experience gained in various finance roles including finance business partnering.
- Strong experience in forecasting and business planning.
- In market knowledge within the consumer goods industry.
- Experience in RGM is an added advantage.
- Track record of success in highly demanding environment.
