Job Title: People and Culture Associate

Unit Summary

  • The Resource Management Unit, comprised of the Finance and People and Culture Departments, leads talent recruitment and retention, and the management of organisational systems and finances through policy development and management.
  • The People and Culture Department processes, stores, and maintains employee data; updates STER policies; facilitates recruitment of talents, and provides administrative oversight in the day-to-day operations.

Job Description

  • Update and implement HR systems and Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs).
  • Update and implement effective SoPs on staff recruitment and retention, compensation and remuneration, onboarding, personnel conducts and rules, personnel welfare, asset management and operational processes and manage procurement in line with international standards.
  • Develop company-wide internal audits and employee training to maximise performance.
  • Facilitate obligatory remittances to relevant government, pension and insurance bodies.
  • Support staff in improving productivity and executing program activities timely and accurately.
  • Update and implement appraisal and performance management systems and facilitate personnel efficiency.
  • Organise, update and maintain personnel records according to policy and legal requirements.

Requirements, Knowledge and Expertise

  • A Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Social Studies, Law or a related field; HR Certification is a plus.
  • Outstanding policy development, organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional demeanour, ethical standards and competent problem solver.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, prioritise, and work within a team and in a fast-paced environment.
  • 2-3 years of proven experience as a People and Culture Officer or other HR positions.
  • Experience working with local organisations, firms, NGOs or INGOs in the same capacity.
  • Understanding of labour laws, hiring, retention, separation and disciplinary procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Packages and experience with HR software.
