Our Client, a multinational Oil and Gas Company in Nigeria has job vacancies for an ICSS Engineer

JOB TITLE: ICSS ENGINEER
JOB LOCATION: LAGOS,PORT HARCOURT

JOB DESCRIPTION
Coordinate the ICSS Packages PLCs other systems activities for the project.
Design the Integrated Control Safety System (ICSS) for the whole project.
Follow up and supervise the ICSS discipline studies to be carried out for the platform, FSO and Onshore Operations Centre during the basic engineering and EPSCC bidding period.
Be involved in the instrument discipline for platform and Onshore Operations Centre during engineering, construction up to pre-commissioning and provide assistance/support to commissioning/start-up personnel.
Ensure that construction of the offshore plant complies with detailed engineering, contracts, schedule, budgets and safety practices.
Coordinate the work with the process design team, the safety design team and the operation team to define and implement all the requirements in the instrument control system.
Avoid contractor stand-by/delays by prompt response to site queries and unexpected technical problems.

ACTIVITIES:

  • To define, follow up and evaluate the ICSS discipline studies to be carried out by the vendor.
  • To define, follow up and evaluate the ICSS discipline studies to be carried out by the vendor.
  • To contribute to the evaluation of engineering, procurement, construction, installation and review/approval of deliverables from the design contractors and ICSS supplier.
  • To organise assistance from COMPANY corporate organisation or from external specialists as necessary.
  • To supervise and promote cost-saving solutions in the design, clearly identifying potential deviations from the COMPANY referential and reporting these to the relevant entity for final decision on whether or not to implement.
  • To monitor the interfaces with all packages in relation to ICSS & instrumentation disciplines.
  • To endorse the contractor construction deliverables, ensuring that they meet project requirements and standards.
  • To participate actively in the definition and design of the ICSS system.
  • To promote alternatives for instrument design to reduce and optimise onshore work and offshore work.
  • To monitor ICSS discipline studies during engineering (technical, costs, planning, interfaces, reporting).
  • To contribute to smooth completion before handover to the Operations team.
  • To supervise the up-dating of project Master documentation.
  • To monitor ICSS discipline studies during engineering (technical, costs, planning, interfaces, reporting).

EXPERIENCE
  • Professional experience: 15 years.
  • Specialist with extensive experience of field instrumentation as well as control and safety systems.
  • Experience/knowledge of Total General Specifications
  • Fluency in English
  • Detailed experience of the operating and control philosophy of offshore plants.
  • Extensive experience of monitoring construction and commissioning performed by an EPC contractor.
