Introduction to Role

  • As a PET Uploader, you will be part of the Production team in Jumia Nigeria the leading online platform in Africa.
  • We are looking for a detailed, process driven and tech savvy person with extensive data analysis experience.
Responsibility
Your areas of responsibility include:
  • Uploading all product data to the system
  • Product Data Management & Data Analysis: Management of all data on the PET system: Content, Images, brands, suppliers and stock uploads.
  • Extracting relevant files (Onsite & Back-end functions)
  • Ensure the data is relevant and valid
  • Managing tasks within specified timelines
  • Designing, improving & Implementation of new & existing processes
  • Follow up on all actions to ensure that implementation is successful
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Ability to self-organize multiple tasks well and to complete them on time with a clear focus on results.
  • Must be system orientated.
  • Ability to pay high attention to details.
  • Willingness to work well in a team.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to independently deal with relevant tools (Excel, other internal tools)
  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or any IT related course.
  • Must have completed the mandatory NYSC Scheme.

Job Title: Payment Fraud Associate

Job Description

Reporting to the helloPay Chief Product Officer, your responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Proactively identify fraud trends that may impact business goals and targets.
  • Research internal and external data to identify risky behaviours and create strategies to minimize fraud.
  • Optimise systems to achieve optimal acceptance rate while keeping fraud loss to a minimum.
  • Develop and maintain machine learning models to detect fraud.
  • Act as fraud subject matter expert towards other departments such as marketing and product development.
  • Ensure operational processes are adequate, documented and enforced (e.g. fraud monitoring, dispute management, KYC, charge backs and protection policies).
  • Conduct or coordinate investigations on suspected fraudulent activities and provide recommendations to management and/or respective law enforcement agencies.
  • Report periodically to management in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ensure necessary records and databases are maintained for regulatory, research and reporting purposes.
  • Liaise with a sister team in Southeast Asia on best practices and fraud issues.
Requirements
In order to succeed in the role, you should ideally possess the following skills:
  • Significant knowledge and experience in e-commerce fraud, credit card fraud, account take-over.
  • Proficiency in fraud detection technologies and tools (e.g. scoring mechanisms, rules engines).
  • Advanced data mining knowledge and usage of tools (e.g. SQL, R, SAS, Excel).
  • Proficiency in machine learning algorithms and technologies.
  • Strong analytical acumen, comfortable gathering data from various sources, generating and evaluating insights.
  • Knowledge of KYC processes and credit risks associated with merchant acquisition is a plus.
  • Problem-solving, positive and constructive attitude is a must.
  • Comfort in dealing with uncertainty and operating in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Knowledge of banking and credit card regulations is a plus.

Compensation
Compensation will be based on experience level, competitive for the Nigerian market, coupled with very significant perks and incentives (up to 50% of total comp.)

Responsibility
Your areas of responsibility include:

  • Use Adobe Photoshop working according to Company guidelines to re-size color corrected images for web
  • Ensure that all images are laid out and saved out correctly to ensure successful uploads.
  • Ensuring that all images onsite are of the highest standard/quality.
Candidate qualifications and Requirements
  • Ideally 1 year relevant experience in a similar job role.
  • A degree in the Arts/Graphic Design (Desired but not compulsory).
  • Full expertise in the Adobe Photoshop Suite.
  • Good understanding of latest version of Adobe design suite.
  • Basic knowledge of computers (Mac and PC).
  • Experience with working to tight deadlines
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Able to complete repetitious work accurately
  • Ability to maintain high work standards
