Job Title: Core IP Network Team lead / Architect

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Job Summary

  • Design, monitor, manage, optimize and maintain Core IP network (Routers, Switches, International connections, domestic backhaul, base stations connectivity, excluding last mile client links).  
  • Continuously monitor network actively to be able to predict future failures and notify and escalate current issues until closure.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Network Operations:

  • Manage & maintain core servers such as DNS, NTP, SPAM gateway, AAA, Monitoring, Syslog, Configuration management.
  • Manage, troubleshooting of MPLS network (EoMPLS) implemented on all PoP's. Traffic Engineering of MPLS network where necessary.
  • Manage, troubleshoot & monitoring of backhaul.
  • Make use of available backhaul network bandwidth efficiently, distribute loads or load sharing where necessary.
  • Identify any performance issues, make necessary recommendations.
  • Implement automatic failover of links, performance routing.    
  • Develop Preventive maintenance procedure to increase the availability of core services.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities are scheduled as per maintenance policies
  • Manage Data Center to ensure orderly and secure environment.

Network Monitoring:

  • Maintain 99.999 % availability of core services & Monitor network stability, availability and performance.
  • Automatic alerting and escalating systems for device failure, performance issues, link failure or quality related issue.  
  • Implement / manage & maintain Out of band monitoring of all core devices in POP's & other remote locations
  • Develop framework and procedures for monitoring network elements
  • Implement system for Log collection & management. Strategy to analyze log data periodical & take necessary actions where necessary.

Network Integration:

  • Design, setup and configure complex switching environments.

Capacity Planning:

  • Forecast and plan core network expansion prior to congestion based on sales forecasting and extrapolation of usage.

Network Optimization and Traffic engineering:

  • Optimal use of available international bandwidth from different providers, escalate any issue to Tier I providers. Automatic failover in case of link failures, Ensure performance-based routing.
  • Identify and classify traffic flows to relieve congestion and enhance user experience
  • Ensure that IP transit routes are optimal and deliver highest performance in the industry
  • Maintain Speedtest.net ratings for Netcom at top tier.

Network Security Management:

  • Implement industry best practices for Security of core devices, implement templates where necessary & AAA system where necessary.
  • Handle Spam / Public IP blacklist issue handling / customer awareness of Spam issues / Handling of customer spam issues.
  • Implement Network Security Operations Center in NOC.

Network Documentation & Configuration Management:

  • Maintain current IP Address registration information with Afrinic
  • Maintain IP Address records for Netcom IP addresses
  • Implement network documentation templates, standards & management procedure.
  • Maintain up to date network documentation & version / change history.  
  • Configuration management, periodical backups & track changes.
  • Develops strict Change management procedure within the organization & eliminate any unauthorized changes on core devices or infrastructure such as power, backhaul.

Network Vendor Management (core network hardware / network providers):

  • Liaise with providers to ensure that services are operating at proper function and performance.

Technical Escalation:

  • Provide level 3 network support for all network issues.

Reporting:

  • Provide Weekly report of Core Networks.

Management:

  • Ensure implementation projects are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Implement industry standard Operational practices within the team.
  • Evaluate various new technologies / products, make recommendation to management where necessary
  • Develop policies and procedures as necessary to remain ISO9000/TL9000 compliant
  • Develop Staff skills and experience.

Education and / or Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics / Communications / Network / Computer Engineering
  • CCAr Architect (CCDE previous) and CCIE Routing and Switching certification or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years in similar role for regional or nation-wide servicing ISP with national backhaul and international backbone circuits and global clients.
  • At least 5 to 8 years demonstrable and proven experience in I.T architectural design and technology development within their specialty field, specifically in design and deployment of IT Technical and reference architectures
  • At least 8 years demonstrable experience in Network and Voice operations and services, specifically, WAN (MPLS, SD-WAN), VPN, LAN, WIFI, Firewalls, UTM, Security, Monitoring (NOC), VoIP, SIP, ISDN.

Job Title: Core IP Network Engineer

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Job Summary
This role will be responsible for participating in IP network operation, infrastructure connectivity and security planning as well as development.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Participate in all network operation (IP network, wireless/wired/optical last mile), infrastructure connectivity, security planning as well as development.
  • Support network design and implementation for enterprise and client networks.
  • Ensure all IP devices are secured and within operational limits.
  • Support daily IP network operation, project management and services monitoring.
  • Conduct network analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate with Regional IP Registry.
  • Document all network changes.
  • Any other duties from time to time as required by the organization.

Experience, Education and / or Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics / Communications / Network / Computer Engineering (or equivalent).
  • IP Certification, preferably from Cisco on CCNP level equivalent or above.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in IP Network and System Support.

Essential Skills / knowledge / Traits:

  • Hands-on experience in the design and operation of LAN/WAN technology including: TCP/IP (routers, configuration and setup), Security (firewalls – Cisco, Juniper, Barracuda), Network management (switches, hubs, fiber-optic, cabling, packet sniffing).
  • Advanced knowledge in Router, Catalyst, Load Balancer, Firewall, Security, Internet Connection, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP4, VPN, Frame Relay, TCP/IP, LAN/ WAN, VLAN, Spanning Tree, Ethereal.
  • Knowledge in Unix/ Linux, Shell script, IDS, QoS, Video/ Streaming Protocols.
  • Experience designing last mile access solutions for different environments (DSL, microwave radio, PTP and PTP radio, fibre etc.)
  • Strong written and oral communications skills in English.
  • Willing to perform work or provide support outside office hours.

Job Title: Data Centre Management Engineer

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Job Summary
The Job holder will be responsible for ensuring the proper running and maintenance of the Data Center by adhering strictly to necessary policies and procedures affecting the Data Centre. And also ensure the enforcement and tracking of such policies, procedures and activities.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Restrict and monitor access control into the Data Centre.
  • Ensure thorough cleaning and maintenance of Data Centre based on a regular schedule.
  • Procure and maintain environmental control units in the Data Centre.
  • Keep proper Inventory control of the Data Centre equipment.
  • Monitor, record and escalate equipment performance in the Data Centre.
  • Maintain ownership of change management request for the Data Centre.
  • Password control for equipment in the Data Centre.
  • Backup policy for the equipment in the Data Centre.
  • Disaster recovery plan for the Data Centre.
  • Labelling of equipment in the Data center according to the approved naming convention.
  • Create Data Centre Policies.
  • Update, maintain, enforce & control Data Centre policies.

Education and / or Professional Qualifications

  • Degree in [Engineering, Computer Science] or a related field.
  • Professional qualifications, accreditation to professional bodies.

Desirable Skills / Knowledge:

  • Ability to quickly understand and adapt to the use of new software.
  • Working knowledge of iDirect VSAT system.
  • Working knowledge of Gilat VSAT system.
  • Good knowledge of 3G.
  • Work well in a busy team, being quick to learn and able to deal with a wide range of issues.

Job Title: Account Manager

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Department: Business Development
Reports to: VP, Business Development

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Account Management:

  • Ensure quarterly sales target are met
  • Upsell new solutions to existing clients
  • Account Management to ensure client satisfaction on network
  • Ensure zero churn of client
  • Build personal relationship with client’s management/I.T contact
  • Assist in the management of new projects/installations with engineering team to ensure project delivery to client’s satisfaction
  • Establish and maintain relationship with engineering, procurement, finance and legal team on a day to day basis to ensure best/undelayed service to our clients
  • Assist billing team to resolve payment delays from clients
  • Ensure timelines are followed and communicated to clients.
  • Provide assistance to engineering team, provide all information to deliver best quote and proceed with surveys/installation.
  • Regularly provide feedback/updates from client.
  • Provide support to best manage outages or maintenance activities
  • Ensure client’s KYC are properly filled; contract, welcome pack to be sent post installation, renewals etc.
  • Proficient in work flow of SAR – new deals, upgrades, demo upgrades(to test), downgrades, modifications, change management forms, etc.
  • Ensure SLA are all updated and shared to client
  • Manage and prioritise all tasks appropriately on a daily basis to ensure no delays
  • Communicate/escalate issues to engineering or management to improve Netcom services.

Research and Reports:

  • Keep management informed by submitting activity results and reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, monthly and annual activity reports.
  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
  • Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.

Internal Relationship Management – liaise & collaborate with:

  • Finance - on the work flow of Service Activation Requests – new deals, upgrades, demos, downgrades, modifications, change management, etc.
  • Billing -to negotiate pricing within approved margin
  • Day to day operational business solutions interface between departments
  • Legal - to ensure the aspects of contract, signing, service contracts, revisions are done.
  • Ensure SLA’s are all adhered to and all documentations are up to date.

Education and / or Professional Qualifications

  • Graduate degree qualification essential.
  • Affiliation to professional bodies.

Experience:

  • The ideal candidate should have not less than 5 years’ experience preferably selling technology solutions.

Essential Skills / Knowledge:

  • Experience with both Microsoft operating system and Apple operating system           
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
