Job Title: Logistics and Security Consultant

Job Descriptions

  • USAID is requesting the services of LEO to identify key constraints to trade (focusing on SPS measures) within the maize and livestock value chains in West Africa and to gauge opportunities for potential SPS related investments along each chain.
  • This will be a value chain analysis, again focusing on SPS needs and issues within the value chain, bringing together a wealth of knowledge about the targeted value chains by inventorying key SPS constraints that prohibit VC development and by prioritizing solutions to address identified SPS/VC constraints[1]. The in-country research will focus on four countries: Nigeria, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, and Burkina Faso.
  • Given this context, ACDI/VOCA is seeking a logistics and security consultant for its in-country research in Nigeria.
Specific Tasks
  • Prepare logistics for meetings and site visits
  • Accompany technical team on identified sites towards the north of the country
  • Obtain prices (labor, materials, etc.) for the study
  • Print necessary materials
  • Obtain security information from the consultant’s professional contact’s network to ensure that identified sites are safe for conducting meetings
Qualifications
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree required and preferably in Security Studies and Logistical Planning.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication and diplomatic skills, ability to work in a team
  • Ability to plan and organize his/her work, efficient in meeting commitments, observing deadlines and achieving results
  • Ability to receive/integrate feedback
  • At least five to ten years of relevant experience in Nigeria and understanding the security situation in-country.
  • Demonstrable experience performing logistics for prior studies/projects in Nigeria.
