Job Description
- Under the direct supervision of the Logistics Site Manager. The logistician provides technical and operational support in the areas of purchasing, supply chain management, stock management and statistics in accordance with ICRC rules and regulations.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect needed data and information within assigned area(s) and produce and share related reports with LSM and technical reference persons.
- Follows up on all work-related messages and correspondence with the relevant contacts and departments.
- Ensure the hand-over with handling agent for all passengers, luggage, and cargo for RED flights from/to Port Harcourt airport for further processing through terminal.
- Ensure that all departing/arriving cargo is as manifest and corresponds to the AWB issued by Logistics. Any unmanifested cargo (including Dangerous Goods) should be reported to AirOps focal point ABJ.
- Coordinate transport with the contracted transportation companied the transfer of goods from store to the distribution points.
- Supply-chain management and planning (manage and follow up on requests, provides customer desk service, and carries out related reporting) in case of Logistics managers absence.
- Participation in purchase planning (purchase orders, request orders, supplier files, etc.) and liaise with requesting department understand the need.
- Implementation and follow-up for financial and administrative procedures
- Acts as Team lead in the absence of the Logistics Site Manager (LSM).
- Ensures that goods are properly segregated within the Store.
- Independently carries out ordinary procurement for specific sector(s) up to a certain amount.
- Drafts requests for tenders/quotes, selection tables and contracts and submits them to their hierarchical superior.
- Ensures that goods are received, stored, and dispatched according to the SOPs; immediately reports any problem or discrepancies.
- Organize the logistical transport of good so that the ICRC can carry out its assistance activities.
- Checks the credentials of contracted companies under the supervision of Logistics Site Manager.
- Ensures that all transport requests from delegation and sub-sites are responded to quickly and efficiently.
- Follows up on purchases and deliveries and checks that they are conform with specifications and contract details.
- Follow-up on statistical reporting using Tableau application (MoPed, Dashboards for purchasing and Customer Service Desk (CSD)
- May be asked to perform tasks not covered in this job description and to provide support to other departments when necessary.
Education and Experience Require
- University Degree or equivalent in any of the social sciences or related field
- Minimum of 3 years post NYSC experience preferably in humanitarian logistics
- Good command of English Language
- Available to travel outside of POH to the different sites of operation as the need requires

- Computer literacy; proficient in Microsoft Office software skills (outlook, Excel PowerPoint, Word).
