The Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, lgboora, is a public funded tertiary institution established to train men and women in different areas of Agriculture, Technology and Management and with a view to becoming not only employers of labour but facilitators of self-sufficiency. The College which was established in 2006 runs full time National Diploma and Higher National Diploma courses in Agriculture, Technology, Management and other Allied Courses. The position of Rector, Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, lgboora, shall become vacant on 10th July, 2019. Job Title: Chief Librarian Location: Oyo Job Description
  • The Chief Librarian is a Principal Officer of the College responsible for the administration of the College Library and coordination of all Library Services in the entire College community and reports to the Rector.
Requirements
  • The candidate must possess a minimum of Master's Degree in Library Science from recognised University and should have a minimum of fifteen (15) years cognate experience at least ten (10) of which must be at senior management level, preferably at a tertiary institution.
Tenure
  • The Chief Librarian shall hold office for a single term of five(S) years on such terms and conditions as may be specified in his/her instrument of appointment.
Salary and other Conditions of Service The salary and other Conditions of Service attached to the post of Chief Librarian are as applicable in Tertiary Institutions in Oyo State and others as approved by the Governing Council from time to time. Vision and Mission Statement Candidates are to submit along with their applications a detailed Vision/Mission Plan with Implementation Strategies, for accelerated academic, infrastructural and institutional development of the College.
Job Title: Rector Location: Igboora, Oyo Job Description
  • The Rector is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the College and has general responsibility for matters relating to day to day management operations of the College.
  • He/She is also responsible for the policy execution, subject to the general control and superintendence of the Governing Council. The Rector by virtue of the Enabling Laws of the College is a member of Council and the Chairman of the Board of Studies.
  • The occupant of the office also serves as the Chairman of Congregation, Appointments and Promotions Committee as well as a member of all statutory Committees of the College.
  • As the Chief Academic and Executive Officer of the College, the Rector shall provide the requisite leadership in academic affairs. He/She is also expected to secure the support of the public sector, community, industry, higher educational institutions and professional bodies for the work of the College and its products.
Qualifications
  • A doctorate degree in any of the disciplines offered in the College with at least seventeen (17) years of graduate/professional and administrative experience at least five (5) years of which must have been gained in a College of Agriculture, Polytechnic or an Institution of Corporate standing.
  • Candidate must show evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals in and outside the Country.
  • His/Her area of academic expertise must be related to Agriculture, Technology and Management.
  • He/She must understand the national and academic purpose of the College and should have a wide administrative experience and be capable of giving dynamic and unquestionable leadership to the College.
  • He/She must be able to command the respect and loyalty of majority of members of staff and students of the College.
  • He/She must be someone of courage, who is firm and can take decisions on the merit of facts and principles and not on the basis of pressures from groups or individuals.
  • He/She must be someone who is not likely to foster personal, social, ethnic, political, religious or other sectional interests.
  • His/Her stature must be such that would command both national and international respect, particularly in the academic/technological world and which would enhance a good reputation of the College.
  • He/She must have a pleasant personality and enjoy good health.
  • He/She should, preferably, be not less than fifty (50) years in age.
  • He/She must be of a sound mind and good moral and of unquestionable integrity and character.
Tenure
  • The appointment of the Rector is for a single term of five(S) years. Other conditions of service are as contained in the College Conditions of Service for Principal Officers as may be reviewed from time to time.
