Job Title: Laboratory Assistant
Locations: Nasarawa and Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Overview

  • The Laboratory Assistant supports the laboratory team by assisting with the collection and preparation of samples from mining operations.
  • This role involves following instructions accurately, learning new procedures quickly, and ensuring that samples are handled and prepared correctly for analysis.
  • The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, detail-oriented, and capable of following orders effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sample Collection and Preparation:
  • Collect samples from various sources, including ore, crushed stone, and workshop production materials, as directed by senior staff.
  • Prepare samples for analysis by following established procedures, including drying, grinding, and labeling.
  • Support the setup and calibration of laboratory equipment as needed.
  • Quickly learn and adapt to new procedures and techniques as instructed by senior laboratory personnel.
  • Follow orders and guidelines precisely to ensure consistency and accuracy in laboratory work.
  • Participate in training sessions and seek to improve skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
  • Ensure samples are handled properly and in accordance with laboratory protocols.
  • Assist with routine laboratory tasks, such as measuring, mixing, and basic testing under the supervision of experienced staff.
  • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment by following safety and cleanliness procedures.

Requirements

  • Degree in Lab Science or a related field with 1 - 4 years of work experience.
  • Fast learner with a willingness to acquire new skills and knowledge.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Basic understanding of laboratory procedures and equipment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately.

Salary
N80,000 per month.
